Back in the late 80s I read a book called the Next Century (I think). The author had recently visited the former Soviet Union and had this comment, "....this is a third world country that makes a good rocket". That was then, this is now. We don't seem to have the government sponsored good rocket thingI hope they have enough beer!
and condoms.I hope they have enough beer!
Still are. They should stop wasting time building a single spacecraft. Let nasa build their own if they can.Remember when Boeing was a good company?

I'd bet that sometime during the life of the ISS, a couple of folks decided to join the 250 mile high club. Maybe it was a legitimate experiment to see how/if it could be done. They need to be Masters of their Domains in outer space!
They should also eliminate the bs dei policies that were probably pushed in them by a government agency.
they should build more reliable airplanesStill are. They should stop wasting time building a single spacecraft. Let nasa build their own if they can.

No it’s not. Probably right about DEI but not a good company currently.Still are. They should stop wasting time building a single spacecraft. Let nasa build their own if they can.

Yes. If they don't get the 777-9 certified and start delivering these planes next year I really have to wonder if they can avoid bankruptcy. Shocking how bad a company they are now.Remember when Boeing was a good company?
I disagree. They have blood on their hands. That's not a good company.Still are. They should stop wasting time building a single spacecraft. Let nasa build their own if they can.

Stuck until at least February now.
Remember when Boeing was a good company?
seems like a few generations of management misunderstood how to run a companyI’m sure it’s all just a misunderstanding.
No tailgating for them this football season..........Stuck until at least February now.
The CEO gets blamed but he didn't design or manufacture anything. He has to count on a lot of other people doing their job.I think at this point Boeing is $5 billion plus into this spacecraft development project.
Now you read that they can't release the capsule without having a crew aboard. Why? Because without a crew it may be impossible to navigate the craft away from the station without risking a collision! No big deal, right? Unfortunately the capsule has defective thrusters and the crew would be risking their lives if they attempted to drive it home.
So the Boeing CEO has been replaced. A total house cleaning, even at NASA, is probably the right way to go. Incompetence, bad management, lack of attention to detail. It is like me fixing our toilet.
Defective thrusters! I know all about that!!I think at this point Boeing is $5 billion plus into this spacecraft development project.

TBH, this started when McDonnell Douglas was 'purchased' by Boeing and then replacing the Boeing management with Douglas management in the late 1990's. That and Boeing moving their HQ away from Seattle / Renton to Chicago, away from where their core work was being done and into their own little echo chamber.seems like a few generations of management misunderstood how to run a company
Using it or with the plumbing?P.S. Do you still need help with your toilet?
