Those time outs before 2 pt attempt

I couldn’t listen to the commentators any more after halftime so i sinked our call to the tv. Matt is a breath of fresh air calling it like it is. He was particularly vocal about those timeouts being unexplainable but to me they were obvious signs of a coach on his way out the door and throwing caution to the wind. So glad we beat those douche bags.
Also, this board is embarrassing looking at a lot of the topics. Shame on some of y’all

I am sure it is because of all the people talking **** about Will Rogers…. It is a little embarrassing to say the least.
But Will’s play speaks for itself and some of us are tired of the same old ****.

It's possible to keep your tiredness to yourself and let the sensible ones enjoy a nice win and a nice season.

You aren't required to vomit every negative emotion you have about facets of our Top 20 football team onto this forum after a huge win over our arch rival. Or after any other game.

I believe Timeout 2 was called because they wanted to run another PA rollout type play, thinking we were gonna have a goal line defense package. Lane wanted to change the play call when he saw we were lined up in a regular 4-3 defense

Not sure why 2 timeouts in a row would be an indicator that a coach is leaving. And to me it really doesn't indicate throwing caution to the wind.
It seemed wasteful- how could they not have a 2pt play lined up to execute after 1 timeout?
...but it didn't seem like throwing caution to the wind. It seemed like the opposite- hesitant and over planning.

He made a few bad decisions and fumbled when hit.
I just don't understand the primal hate so many have for him. It's such an odd emotional disgust to witness.

It’s his breakdowns in contested pockets. There’s no denying his mistakes tonight and other games this year that saw very similar mistakes. But they got through it and they put together a nice team win. Everyone including Will made some clutch plays tonight. They showed more nerve than most of us sitting at home.

He said during his press conference that the play clock hadn’t started and we were allowed some late substitutions on the first 2 pt TO. Then he didn’t like our look on the second TO, so he called another one.

I understood why he was calling them… but at the same time - wtf was he doing calling them? The games not over if they don’t convert, but it is over if he burns those timeouts and they don’t convert. Real head scratcher. I’d rather take a delay of game in that situation than burn my timeouts

Not a fan of the personal attacks on Will but criticism of his play is fine. I did that a bit because this is a message board. He has limitations and they showed this game. It was tough to watch at times because it's the Egg Bowl and not some random team. Will's gonna be a favorite of fans and have a nice legacy. It can't all be second halfs against Auburn, but he's led us to some good wins. And, he behaves better than I did when I was an undergraduate. 8 wins this year with a chance for 9. Pretty damn cool.

I don’t think it is “primal hate” to say that we need a different QB. Will has amazing stats because we throw the ball 90% of the time and 90% of those throws are short, easy passes. But anyone who understands football and looks at our issues without the maroon glasses in can see that we need something different.

Will can’t throw the deep ball. We know it, they know it, everyone knows it. One deep shot last night and he threw it 5 yards out of bounds. He also can’t run. The random wide open scramble here and there does not make him a runner. Especially when 50% of those end with the ball in the turf and us praying he was down before it came out. What this means is that teams on have to play the 20 yards off the line of scrimmage. They can pack in on us.
If we had a QB who could throw deep, even just every now and then and then a guy who could run, again just when it’s there, it would force teams to play the entire field and cause HUGE problems for the defense. Enjoy the win, which our QB almost threw away, but realize we need a change.

This is the stuff that bothers me with certain people on this board. I don't see much in the way of "personal attacks" outside of a couple of noodle-arm comments. But there are idiots on this board and elsewhere who translate honest criticism into personal attacks.

Will was the worst player on the field last night. That is pretty much undisputable to anyone that is honest about. We were also good enough to overcome it. It's okay to celebrate, while at the same time be critical of areas where we have to be better from our veteran QB.

I don't think I am talking about someone who simply posts just- 'we need a different QB'.

I am talking about the insults, rants, and outbursts. If you haven't seen them for 3 years, you have actively avoided them.
