Full disclosure - I did not see the game live. I had something come up, so I DVR'd it and watched a bit of it when I got home. Then watched the entirety of it (minus commercials) yesterday.

1. Utah has a kid on their team named Connor O'Toole. Wouldn't it be great if his mom was named Plenty?

2. What was with all the yapping by the Utah Offensive Line? Since when does Utah-Penn State necessitate all this yapping? The refs should have thrown a flag at them for unsportsmanlike conduct. That said, I thought it was funny when KLS flipped Solomon Enis' moutpiece into the stands.

3. Those that had to show out - KLS, Clifford, the O-line, the secondary, CJF and staff - all did. Each did a great job on Monday night.

4. I liked Cam Rising - he reminded me a bit of a thcker Trace McSorely. He has another year of eligibility and should he enter the portal I hope CJF picks him and names him starter. Just to see what the reaction on this board would be. ;)

5. Holly Rowe- one of the best sideline reporters in the business. And her battle against cancer is amazing. But Holly.....you are starting to look like Shrek's wife.

6. The defense had tough day in the first half with tackling. But that sack at the end of the first half started to get them going. I heard later that Jacobs was surprised to find out he had two sacks in the game. The first half doldrums could have been due to a 30 day layoff - I think Utah went through some similar things with being rusty.

7. Carter, Winston and MIller were slow to read and react on several pass plays. They are all freshman, but this is something that should not be an issue at this point in the season.

8. Did they empty out all of Salt Lake City to fill the Rose Bowl? It seemed like a Utah home game.

9. With regard to the O-line, I think Clifford, who has some escapability, saved them a few times in the game. Not so sure Allar will be able to do that. I don't see him being as mobile as Clifford.

10. I thougth KLS pulled his hamstring on his TD pass play. But that could have been just his TD celebration - I simply am not sure anymore.

11. The big plays were reminiscent of the years under McSorely where they relied on being even, and then hit them with the big play. This results in Utah having possession for 11 more minutes in the game. And still only a meaningless TD at the end (although we should have stopepd it).

12. This was Clifford's day. He earned it. So glad he went out the way he did.

13. Smith Vilbert got into the game late - got some pressure on the QB - not sure what his future is, but hope he does well.

14. PSU has, by my accounts, three of the best Rose Bowl runs in history - KiJana, Saquon and Nick. All just show such a burst of speed and power.

15. As always, I am jealous of Manny Diaz's hair. It just thrills me.

Saw the replay of the KLS TD and he faked the hamstring and immediately broke into a brief “griddy” so he wouldn’t get flagged

Should have went skiing in Utah this past weekend since everyone was in Cali. Damn hip replacement! Uhh

shreks wife. Lol

3 great runs by 3? (Hopefully) great backs.

kls mocking the punter was awesome.

kls threw a towel not the mouthpiece since it was attached to enis helmet. Still awesome.

kls surprised me stepping up!!

clifford control of offense was outstanding. Allar should study that tape day and night to watch how Clifford controls the game and Utah defense pre snap. Was marveling at it as game was going on and just saying wow all of that experience has paid off!!

One of the announcers said that Enis’s mouthpiece came off his helmet and that he went to the Penn State sideline to retrieve it. Then a Penn State player tossed it in the stands. I doubt Enis would have ventured to the Penn State sideline for a towel.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I never saw KLS actually throw the mouthpiece. He did pick up a towel and toss it into the air like he was mimicing a ref throwing a flag, presumably because Enis was barking at the PSU bench?

No idea. I only go with what I heard on the broadcast as I was fast forwarding my DVR copy. Maybe it was a towel. Whatever it was, it was kind of funny, and a bit ironic since Enis dad is.....welll, Curtis. A Penn Stater.

Pretty sure it was a towel and I'm not sure why Enis was so desperate to get it back that he had to go all the way onto the PSU sideline to retrieve it.

I guess when you find a good towel, you keep it like a nice suit.

Agree with you that Cliffords legs bailed us out a couple of times. Hoping that Allar is more accurate and can throw into tighter windows. Clifford at times in his career had problems with accuracy and untimely turnovers throwing. Hopeful that Allar won't need to run as much with the oline improving and be more accurate on quick slants, etc.

The announcers confused the situation.

At the end of the video, the towel was thrown back to the players from the stands.
Maybe it was Enid’ towel ….players often have towels shoved into their attached to their uniforms to keep the hands dry for receptions. 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

Did you know that the toothbrush was invented in West Virginia? If it had been invented anywhere else, it would have been called the teethbrush.
Such a stupid joke that I've laughed at a thousand times.
