Biggest problem is coaching and developing. I'm not saying that we couldn't use more talent, but it didn't stand out to me as the biggest glaring problem we have. It's an internal attitude problem. No excitement. I challenge you to find a more talented hitter in the SEC than Brandon Turner.

we don't have an SEC pitcher on our staff next year. And Polk never signed an SEC caliber SS during his 2nd time around. Maybe R. Powers will prove me wrong.

We have some talented players, but not nearly enough.

and lazy at player development and conditioning for several years now. I really think it's going to take the new coach 2 to 3 years to get us really competitive again.

and that pisses me off. HOWEVER, I still think we've gotten some good players despite being lazy, which pisses me off even more, because they've exactly ZERO positive coaching and development since they've gotten there.

8dog, Weatherford, Lea (obviously if he'd stayed), Crosswhite, Lalor, Pigott are all SEC calibur pitchers with any sort of decent pitching coach. It wasn't that long ago that Crosswhite was on the All-Freshman team, you know.

and right now, I just can't consider Cross an SEC pitcher. And he wasn't on the all freshman team.

We need to recruit better players, so that we have more talent, we need to coach those players better and develop those players to reach their fullest potential.

Not only that, but we need to look at how we do gameday. Enough with country music after every inning. Some country is OK, but mix in some pop songs. We really need to do a much better job of attracting students to the games. Especially midweek, and we need to do a much better job of attracting families and alumni during the weekends. ADVERTISE!!!!!!! Have promotions like Abner's free chicken tender night, Greek night, and etc. to get the students to come. Promote the Dugout Club better. That is the lifeblood of our program. Get people involved with it.

There is no excuse for us to not have 10,000 fans on a SEC weekend and 5,000 for a midweek game.

moron make his 3,354th post.

I find it hard to believe that we are going to get Bianco (Ole Miss Coach) to come here... Oregon baseball does not exist at this time...Therefore, it should be really hard to hire their coach...

hearing Polk joke about how Ron Fraser ran all those promotions at Miami and he told Fraser that the only promotion we ran at MSU was to publish a schedule and open the gates. And I thought then, why the hell don't we do anything more to promote our baseball program. Why not average 10,000 fans per weekend series instead of 7,000?
