That is from this story that another poster linked. He is only 32 years old. Missing two majors this season is far from being the end of his professional career. Yes he is hurt. The vast majority of golfers deal with recurring back, knee, and wrist injuries. Until he actually retires, it would be foolish to bet against him."While I am obviously disappointed to have to miss the remainder of the season, I have to do the right thing for my long-term health and look forward to returning to competitive golf when my doctors agree that my knee is sufficiently healthy," said Woods. "My doctors assure me with the proper rehabilitation and training, the knee will be strong and there will be no long-term effects."
In 1963, while playing the final hole of a pro-am on the eve of a tournament, Jack mis-hit an approach shot and subsequently suffered pain in his left hip. The injury was severe enough to force Jack to endure some 23 cortisone injections over a 10 week period. Then over the ensuing decades, Jack's hip pain got progressively worse and he began a long and painful journey that ultimately ended in January 1999 when he received a ceramic-on-ceramic hip implant.
