Not exactly “all in” when Heupel makes $9M and Barnes makes $6M. Vitello is very well paid but still proportionally way less than the other big coaches on campus.

Vitello's new deal, announced Friday by the university, will pay him $3 million annually and run through the 2029 season. According to Major League Baseball insiders, Vitello's annual salary would place him among the top 10 highest-paid MLB managers.

A college coach is much more impactful than an MLB manager. He’s got to be the manager and GM plus the scouting director and who knows what else.
That said, there’s absolutely no comparison between an MLB budget and a college one.

Yeah, but he’s now the highest paid college BASEBALL coach…

3 Million is very much “all in” for a college baseball program.
That's about what State offers a Head Football Coach isn't it? But seriously, that is pretty darn high for a "club" sport. Seems like more and more programs are taking that "niche" sport serious.

Being paid about the same as Corbin. TN almost had to match their instate rivals.

Gents, this is just the tip of the iceberg in big time college athletics. We're going to see things in the next several years that none of us ever believed could have happened.

^^^ This is why anyone who says things like, “there’s no way State gets left out of a super league !11!! …” is fantasizing. The changes that are happening are so rapid and unpredictable that there is zero certainty of any kind. There are no guarantees. Period.

Ole Miss & Mississippi State will all be in the same boat with southern Miss if it goes to a super league. No way they will be able to keep up.

Ole Miss will make the Super League, MSU will not. Oxford- Lafayette County Leadership actually embrace Ole Miss and have put themselves 20 years ahead of Starkville-Oktibbeha County. Ole Miss has better leadership, marketing and fundraising. MSU is lead by a lifelong bureaucrat and Starkville-Oktibbeha County Leadership wishes MSU would go away.

How much are these bat companies giving the head coaches these days? 6 or 7 figures?

Yea, the ones who have enough money to kill it in football and that club sport do. Our dumbass decides to go all in on the club sport at the expense of the one who pays the bills.

These salaries keep going up. There must be a mistake in some people's accounting about College Baseball and the money the school EARNS from it.
There’s no mistake. Some people can afford to do both and some just throw football in the trash and do dumb sh*t like spend 60 million dollars on a baseball stadium with the second smallest budget in the SEC while we leave trailers in the south end zone, have no football IPF, no sound system that works, and no LED lights like everyone else we play against. That mindset will have all of you feeding Arkansas State and Southern Miss for conference series in that outfield palace sooner than later.
