Is it true that boys had to swim naked in swim class or the YMCA in 1960s
I swam naked at the
"Y" in Wilkes-Barre in the early 60's during swim classes. The balcony usually consisted of families, including the girls, watching our workouts.
During the winter, Friday and Saturday nights we would rendezvous with friends (guys & gals) at the "Y" swimming pool, but everyone wore swimsuits. Really good times in Jr. High. Other times, meeting the girls at the movies.

"Yes they did and often it was will women and girls present. It not only happened in the Y but the boy scouts often swam naked even when they had spectators including many women and even young girls. No one was harmed except for a few boys who may have been embarrassed to be naked in front of their sisters or classmates but they got over it and I am sure the girls enjoyed it. Many of the girls even invited their girlfriends to the next event. I have seen reports that there were 8 to 10 girls in the audience for every boy. Good for them."
"You can see a naked males in the foreground in this picture with a girl in a one piece suit but if you look in the background, there are other girls in a one piece suit and several totally naked males. I see nothing wrong with this and I wished it was still going on
today."
