To play in the NFL you have to be out of High School

for at least three years. However, you can play college football at any age as long as you have eligibility. Example; Stenson Bennett is 25 playing against 18 year olds. This is absolutely insane.

When I played basketball in college my roommate was from Jamaica and was 26 coming into our program.

We had a guy like that during Spurrier's time. Feel Good military (IIRC) person. Can't remember his name but I do recall we put him in and he did indeed catch at least 1 pass. Then he quickly vanished. Just a feel good story for us/him, nothing more. I believe he may have even been in his early to mid 30's. Can't remember that clearly. I just know what I typed is true.

My point is, the NFL says kids bodies can’t handle the punishment in the League at such a young age. That’s the reason for the three years. But, grown men that could be in the League can punish kids in College. It makes no sense!

To be honest, I thought he was in his late 30's or early 40's. Haven't looked it up. I'm shooting from the hip so may be way off.
Well that's close enough. We'll settle on mid 30's.... point is to OP we had one well over 20 something. I just remember feeling good when he finally got in the game and caught a pass. Dreams do come true.

Tim “Pops” Frisby was 40 years old and played for Lou Holtz. This was before the Spurrier era. He actually had an appearance on Jay Leno because of it. He wasn’t a contributor though…more of a feel good story.

But, while it feels strange when it happens, there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. It’s amateur athletics. Some people choose to go to college later in life. It just feels like a professional thing because it’s so big now. Most of the 25-26 year olds pursued baseball out of high school. This was the case for Quincy Carter, Chris Weinke, and Corey Jenkins who was one of our QBs under Holtz as well. Same for Hayden Hurst as mentioned above. It’s become fairly common in the past 20 years or so. Clemson ruined a kid, Roscoe Crosby, because they convinced him to play professional baseball while playing college football at the same time. Sadly, he didn’t excel in either sport. Below is “Pops” during his appearance on Leno and Corey Jenkins.
