That wanted or want Beamer fired I’m ashamed. We just completely dominated a good SEC team on the road, we are #1 in the SEC, our defense is LIGHTS out, we are 2-0, and College Gameday is coming to Columbia for the first time in a decade. Coach Beamer is OUR guy, he will be here a long time and will do great things for us. Also Sellers is HIM.

I think most just wanted Beamer to demonstrate progress and put a team on the field that is prepared, motivated and having fun winning.

We got very lucky. We could very easily be 1-1 right now. I'm glad we're 2-0. Hopefully we'll be 3-0 and set up for a special season. You are an Insiders creature. You would still be pumping sunshine full bore if we were 1-1. That would make me ashamed.
Because I know what we have on this team and what we are capable, and I know we have a crazy hard schedule.
The first win stung like a loss. The Kentucky win was nice. It cooled Beamers HOT SEAT a little. Beating LSU next week will be what he needs.

You can also be a fan without acting like a jilted girlfriend when you don’t get a prize at the fair. Whoa whoa whoa…. Let’s pump the brakes there just a little bit. I thoroughly enjoyed the win as much as anybody. There’s no fan that enjoyed the game more than I did. Road wins in the conference do not exactly grow on trees for us. However, Kentucky does not look like a good team. They may eventually prove to be, but they were not yesterday. It was a fun win and enjoyable all around, but the team still has issues and a lot of areas and where it needs to improve.

We are all FANS of the University of South Carolina. We all want the best for the football program. Why some can't handle what is criticism of the football program at times is puzzling. If you are married, does your wife ever criticize you? I bet she does at times. She is not criticizing you because she hates you or wants to drag you down. She criticizes you because she wants you to do better. She wants you to succeed.
I think theres a lot of people who are emotionally attached to RAY TANNER bc of baseball and Ray is responsible for football hires now. This was a great win, and I hope we go 13-0. But many of us arent happy w Tanner bc passed on what looked like an obvious hire to roll dice on someone who hadn’t even been a coordinator. Ive never had issue w Beamer himself, he took a job that was offered cant blame him for that

I don't know about him but some on the Insiders just love Beamer. What happens on the field is an afterthought.They want him to be our coach for life. It's a cult mentality. If you criticize Beamer you've insulted their god. So we're aholes and pieces of crap.
I would put plans to erect a statue in honor of Shane on hold until there is further evidence that he can produce a big winner here. South Carolina has out recruited Kentucky in 3 out of the past 5 years in the high school ranks. South Carolina has out recruited Kentucky in the Portal 2 of the 3 years it has been in existence. Lets wait to see how Shane does against teams that regularly out recruit us. THAT will tell us whether Shane Beamer can win big here. Until then, I'd curb your enthusiasm.

Criticism that is grounded in fact and not aimed at tearing folks apart for no other reason than you are put out is one thing. Criticism that comes from emotion is another. One is typically aimed at improving, the other is aimed to hurt.
Agree. I heard he called out fans either last night or this morning who were critical last week. He's still prickly, thin-skinned and a bit immature. I hope he wins for us and grows up.

I'm just not getting it. We were very happy about the game yesterday. We've all had positive things to say and have been saying them. Now we're being invaded by zombies. Zombies that weren't here last week for some reason.
Don’t disagree that it was a bad showing. I have no issue criticizing Beamer or Clayton White for systemic issues or not having players prepared. They have been here long enough. Again criticism just for the sake of complaining because you are mad is different.
For example, I was appalled at the flack thrown in Sellers’ direction. He showed last year in some mop up duty his ability. It is there. Yes he had a bad first game. But the dude at that time had started in exactly the same number of college football games I have. The fan base put the weight of our future on his shoulders because of the success he had last year. As I said before, moving forward, he will have some great games. He will also have some games where the sky is falling. But those games/plays should become fewer and further between. And when has those games, how do we react as a fan base? I hate losing, but I also know that we aren’t in a position right now to not ride with the young guys that can play…even if they do stupid things occasionally. Experience breeds confidence!
Can’t say I disagree with this much. I do not believe that a coach at this level should spend that much time trying prove fans wrong. But that seems to be the thing with the younger generation of coaches.
Agree with everything you said there. Before yesterday's game I said, on this site, that I don't believe we are as bad as we looked against ODU and that we would do a 180 degree turn against Kentucky. A Kentucky fan laughed at me. Of course, he has not shown up since the game. Seller's potential is great. I'm excited to see what he will do for us.
