Today, melancholia fills the Gambit household.

Our magnificent Colorado Blue Spruce, with its dazzling display of lights and treasured ornaments, has now passed into history. She joins over 50 others in the storied Gambit Christmas tradition. Last night she filled our home with the fading memories of happy days spent with family and friends, but tonight she serves as a haven for birds and small animals. For those who celebrate the Nativity, I hope your Christmas was a joyful one, and for all who visit here, I pray that 2025 will be the happiest year of our lives.
May God Bless us, every one.

We need "before" and "after" photographic evidence, else your fable didn't happen. ;)

I'm pleased to learn that you enjoyed your extended Christmas, but I'm also starting to think that you're one of these people that annually drags out their counter/table top artificial tree with greater drama than necessary.

I'm certain that you own a digital camera or phone and know how to post pics to this board. Your original post proves me correct.

Alas, there will be no photos of either the tree or of Babs. Mrs. G doesn't ask me for much, but she does ask for absolute Internet privacy, and I abide her request. Neither of us posts photos of any kind online. This follows a serious incident involving a member of our extended family a number of years ago. Fortunately no harm resulted but the incident has made her extremely cautious. I wish it were otherwise because I carry photos of our trees in my cell phone and very much enjoy the reactions of others when, with very little prompting, I find a reason to share them.
I will note that I just looked at a photo of this year's tree and enlarging it reveals a lot of personal information. We have ornaments with our real names, our wedding date, my wife's birthdate, etc. So.... No photos.
Interestingly, Mrs G. keeps a photographic album of every Christmas tree we ever had. All were live trees and nearly all were cut down by our own hand at local tree farms.

Pictures of Babs do not violate Mrs G's internet privacy. Win win.
