It was discussed among NFL refs if the side block on the Jets player should have been called a penalty. The NFL said no it was from the

side. Take note on Ja'Aiyr Browns' called back TD , the block was less of an infraction , but was called block in the back.

Here you go NFL vs. Big 10 the calls are horrible as the rule dictates. There is too much on the line to position teams in or out in the Big 10.
The NCAA needs to adopt a pool of refs like the NFL, rotating between conferences, otherwise this will not stop.

Saw that block in the back and was waiting for the flag that never came. (Knew it wouldn't because, well, Patriots... Disclaimer: not particularly a Jets or Patriots fan, no particular dog in the fight.) I deem it "selective refereeing." I'll also say that if I see that kind of thing in real time, then it must be quite egregious.

Long suffering Jets fan here. The Jets win that game yesterday with Sean Clifford as QB. They have a top tier defense and just need competent QB play to win. Yesterday they didn't even get competent high school QB play.

Just my opinion, but I think the NFL is trying to save face. I think it was in the back and furthermore was totally unnecessary.
It was stupid. The return guy had already gone by so why take the risk of even attempting such a block? Still, there was time on the clock and the Pats would have been in position for a very makeable field goal. Maybe they would have missed. We'll never know.

Agreed but at least had the flag been thrown NE would've had to earn the points. I thought too that the foul was incredibly stupid and possibly intentional.

There were two questionable blocks in the back at the beginning of that punt return as well. The Pats probably would have won the game anyway, as the Jets couldn’t move the ball with Wilson at QB, but that last punt return looked like a Michigan-Penn State play to me.

I agree with this. Basketball did this, and although I have not seen any statistical studies, it sure seems like you hear less and less about certain refs and certain teams and certain situations than in the past. Bad calls will always exist, and we fans we always declare a bias against our teams, but I think the horrible calls that bring on the statements about bias will lessen over time if they make the change you are suggesting.

Me too man. Such a disastrous offensive game plan, coming out of a bye week(sound familiar?). This QB is sh*t and he walks and talks like he is the man. This team has some real weapons and a fierce defense, it's going to be hard for the organization, but they are going to have to get rid of this kid if ever they want to do anything. I'd take a relatively cheap Garrapolo or Carr next year and they would immediately be contenders. Zach played the position as bad as I have ever seen it played yesterday and that says something considering he didn't turn the ball over(although he tried).

How about trade a #2 to Pittsburgh for the OC and Kenny “baby hands” Pickett? We’ll even throw in a case of Iron City!

I think you're confused here. First, Brown's TD wasn't called back. It was Johnny Dixon's TD that was called back. Second, the call was an illegal blind side block, not a block in the back (although the audio cut out so it was hard to hear).

Dixon yes sorry. Looking at both, neither should have happened , both ball carriers were within 5 yards of the goal line.
