Lazy. No way you let him even sniff the floor the rest of the year if he comes back out like that.

Should have let him stay at western Kentucky, but hindsight is 20/20

I have been saying this team and in particular Tolu plays lazy very often. They are good when they all give max effort like they did against Tennessee but then they play lazy against A&M. They are hanging in there this game tho

if you watch Tolu closely, it’s very obvious he’s just going through the motions but not really putting effort into it.

Guy sucks. He refuses to guard anyone defensively outside of the lane. Makes our guards play two on one. He’s not being doubled today much, if at all. Just getting worked.

He’s been the face of our program the last 4 years and what have we accomplished? Snuck into the tourney on the bubble one year and got sent home in the first game. I’m glad he’s out of eligibility, we need to move on.

That makes tons of sense. If only we could just not have good players on mediocre teams that would make mediocre teams better.

If only we could have gotten rid of that Q guy a few years ago, those bubble teams would have transformed into Sweet Sixteen stalwarts.

Let’s be honest. He’s not a power 5 conference caliber player. He’s more of a conference USA guy or a swac guy. Jimmy Bell had more points and rebounds in ncaa tourney games than Tolu had.

Richard Williams to jans on postgame radio : “what was going on with Tolu in the 1st half?”

Jans: “ I’d have to say it’s what the defense was doing.”

Let’s be honest. Tolu was a pretty dang good player when he got here as a sophomore. The kind you could build a team around. But then, the league has gotten so much better the past two years…you saw what USC threw at him today. He isn’t that player anymore.

pretty disappointed we did not improve much while returning everyone and adding one of the best freshman in the country.
Quad 2 home loss. Expect to see that net drop a few notches as well

I think opposing teams are targeting Tolu as a weakness.
I had the “pleasure” of being at the opener last year against Bama. They most certainly did this, and he certainly obliged them.

He’s a big guy, but he’s not made for competitive basketball.

Let's be honest, the coaches in the SEC voted a player you say is not Power 5 worthy as 1st team All SEC last year.

So, let's be honest, you're either a troll or just stupid.

I'll keep my vote confidential.

I couldn’t watch the first half. After reading this I watched the second, and Tolu seemed like he played hard to me. Did I miss something?

Now this I agree with. It's what has disappointed me all year about this team. They absolutely should have been improved and should have easily made the Tourney, but it hasn't happened.

And the defense regressed and is probably the reason.

He may have not developed into the player we all thought he would. It happens, and other factors could come into play that would keep him from becoming the top player he probably should have. I never thought he was a player you could build a team around because he didn't really have the athleticism you need at that position. We saw today he is not the guy we should have built around because he is too easy to shut down.

There was a thread a week or so ago asking who the lost controversial basketball players have been.

Based on the 17ing lower half that rips In Tolu so frequently, it's become clear Tolu is one of the most controversial MSU Basketball players this century.
And frankly, that says a lot about how many lower halves post on SPS.

Well, we did lose 2 projected starters including Tolu for a good portion and he could do no conditioning while he was out. Jans brought in 3 guys to be shooters. Hubbard has been great, Fort has been injured and something happened to Taylor. Other players on the team were raving about Taylor before the season.

If Jans doesn’t go het an offensive assistant that has a clue. our future is 17. Imagine how bad we would be without Hubbard’s scoring. Jans needs to be held responsible.

No way should this be acceptable how this team has underperformed and been out-coached except for maybe 3 to 5 games this year….

Go watch a practice . Players get yelled at and they are able to yell back at the coach. It’s obvious there is no discipline or anyone held for accountability.

It all makes sense if you just dig a little bit. The culture is a cancer.

Yep. Cancer culture. Veterans are uncoachable. South Carolina has only won in Starkville a handful of times in history.
