And one of the all time good guys. He deserved better. The QB Club is also having Tom for their watch party for the Illinois game. Attendees will be able to interact with him nd he will also comment on the game.
glad to see him more involved. Truly a PSU icon
Ouch. But fitting.Maybe Fran Ganter will do the coin flip sometime too. He'll deliver a note with a mysterious phone number to midfield and say, "Call this. They'll tell you if it's heads or tails."
A great guy and great Penn Stater… gotta love his 1-0 head coaching record vs. Ohio State. And one of the all time good guys. He deserved better.
Gotta add that wasn't a slam on Ganter. He was unwittingly used as a stooge which wasn't fair to him. Anyway, back to the thread. It'll be great to see Bradley honored on the field.Ouch. But fitting.
Well, many people have referred to you as Your Royal Heinous....so......Probably has nothing to do with Bradley having coached at both schools. Maybe Dick Anderson will be invited to do the coin toss for the Rutgers game. And maybe I'm the King of Sweden.
I like it.Well, many people have referred to you as Your Royal Heinous....so......
Ouch, indeed. I’m guessing that he regrets what he did, every day.Ouch. But fitting.
Being invited to be the ceremonial coin flipper and be recognized by the crowd is an honor. It's not an over-the-top pomp and circumstance event it's still honoring someone.I'll be happy to see Bradley on the field, but I don't think he's being honored as he has simply been invited to do the coin toss. Yes, I'm sure they'll make mention of him, like all coin toss officials and the crowd will cheer loudly, but I'm not expecting anything more.
As always, IMO, any "honoring" from Joe's era needs to start with Joe. Anything else is a slap in Joe's, and the Paterno's, face(s).
I watched that game at Cafe 210 West and news trucks were lined up in front of Old Main that day.A great guy and great Penn Stater… gotta love his 1-0 head coaching record vs. Ohio State.
Yep, I get it and agree... he was forced into the middle of a horrible situation. I was kind of “ouching” the entire thing.Gotta add that wasn't a slam on Ganter. He was unwittingly used as a stooge which wasn't fair to him. Anyway, back to the thread. It'll be great to see Bradley honored on the field.
On one hand I see what you’re saying, on the other hand I consider ANYTHING moving in the direction of sharing positive memories of that era to be a good thing, and hope it leads to more of it. There’s also the timing factor of this being THE game against WVU at Beaver Stadium and that dovetailing well with recognizing Bradley specifically. As always, IMO, any "honoring" from Joe's era needs to start with Joe. I think that Kraft is probing to see how far he can go towards reconciliation. He has the look of someone who realizes that he's in deep kimchi. On one hand I see what you’re saying, on the other hand I consider ANYTHING moving in the direction of sharing positive memories of that era to be a good thing, and hope it leads to more of it. I don’t know if Kraft has the leeway to take on the whole enchilada of honoring Joe yet by himself without getting pressure or an outright ixnay from the board. Maybe this will help nudge things toward that in some way? Just another way to look at it. All in all I’m choosing to view it as a positive.
Of course.....they called Bradley because the coin tossers union is on strike. Its so hard to find good help these days.I'll be happy to see Bradley on the field, but I don't think he's being honored as he has simply been invited to do the coin toss.
