You’ve had a top recruiting class recently. Stop obsessing on Cael and get to work with the talented group you already have in your room.

I know Tom and agree with you 100%! I know for a fact that he was actively trying to get guys through the transfer portal too. The problem is he couldn't get them to commit to TOSU.

I don't like Tom Ryan anymore than I like the Brands brothers, but I don't think you can blame him for the way he feels about PSU wrestling. Cael came in her and built a successful program that wrestlers want to join. Recruiting was never easy and now with NIL and the portal it surely has gotten harder. Cael has no doubt made it even harder for others to recruit because of his success. I can understand coaches at programs like Ohio State and Iowa that might otherwise be vying for titles regularly and now in many cases have no chance being upset. They have to deal with NIL, the portal, and Cael Sanderson.

Not exactly true that Ohio State hasn't taken transfers from other programs. It's been a number of years now, but Joe McKenna transferred from Stanford. He was a pretty good wrestler.

Ryan has it exactly backward: Max Dean went out and got Penn State, not the other way around.
