If second place is their program’s highest achievement, let them celebrate it. Only one team finishes as national champions, and they outperformed all expectations. Schools recognize All-Americans, which is top eight. Why shouldn’t the team celebrate their accomplishments? Those kids looked genuinely excited

Manning comments after his “We were only 60 points away from 1st place celebration.”
“This puts us in the conversation when talking about the top 20 best 2nd place teams ever.”
“In 2024 we could have had a title if Cael & Starocci didn’t weasel us out of our Bubba Wilson points at NCAAs. We only lost by 110.5 points. If 9 or 10 things would’ve gone wrong for PSU,and maybe 10 or 15 for the other 7 teams that finished ahead of us, the Bubba points would’ve had us in striking distance.”

I still think the 2018 Buckeyes are the best second place team.

Celebrating it is fine, but rings? LOL To be fair, basketball teams hang banners for final fours, and even just making the tournament. The basketball tournament sets up to more logically celebrate each stage. Wrestling just tallies up the score at the end. Does the NCAA give out team trophies for second and third place?

Yes, 4th too.

Nebraska had one incredible tournament. They wrestled great. I don’t mind them celebrating it. But rings seem a bit much to me. Or maybe a lot much. At least it’s something the fans can use to rile Manning up at Rec Hall this year. Not that he needs the help, lol.

I was going to say typical Ohio response. They believed immigrants were eating cats and dogs. But then I remembered he lost his young son. I would imagine that could make anyone doubt the medical establishment

If "maybe and buts were candy and nuts" what a merry Christmas it would be!
