First time in about 5 years I felt really good about MBB team. This is Paris 2nd year. Sit back and enjoy the ride.
Verdonk is 6’8” and a foul waiting to happen. He could not guard Hall on the perimeter. Gray cannot guard the perimeter either. Hall is a special player who took a smaller player down low. Against the other two it would have been worse. Sometimes opponent’s talents places tough decisions on you.
Your anger seems very inappropriate and out of proportion for a team and a coach that have made all the right moves to be 7-0 coming into the game. We were a 9 point underdog to a top 20 team on the road. Murray-Boyles is a top 100 recruit who now healthy moves ahead of Gray and Verdonk in the rotation

It’s a long season, but I would give Paris and the entire team an “A” for the first quarter. Exceeded expectations in every game thus far.
Agree. Good times will be coming in mbb. I am more convinced than ever before, since Paris arrived, that mbb is in great hands.
Have to agree here, I thought the freshman played very well against his first big test, good footwork for a big kid and his offense will come. We just got outshot and out-scraped in the second half against a more experienced team, that was a good learning experience in front of a hostile crowd

Paris stated at his post game presser that Verdonk was injured. A few guys that have been very productive this year had tough nights. It happens.
First time we’ve lost a little poise. In my opinion the amount of minutes given to the new guy in THIS game were a mustake, and had at least a little to do with the loss of that poise.
The crowd may have been ‘hostile’ i suppose, but Lordy that was a dorkfest. What’s up with the reflective road crew vest’s btw.
Glad it was because of injury; I didn’t particularly care for the look of him not getting in. I didn’t see Ugusuk in either, but I may just have missed it.
I'm being totally honest when I say you are one of the least informed posters I've come across.
CMB (the freshman you're talking about) is a very talented player and did decent on the defensive end. I remember he had a block at the rim and also scored some points. He did miss some free throws but not bad for his first ever road game in college and battling back from mono.
Also, we do not have 2 7-footers on the team.
Just lost to a better team. D collapsed in the 2nd half. Allowed 23 first half points. 49 second half points. You're not gonna win many games when you give up 49 points in a half. Paris has 5 more games to tinker and work out the kinks before the real tests come.

We started taking low percentage shots that we were taking off balance. The team went stone cold when it mattered.
Um no. When 3 of the guys (Mack, Stute, and Wright) that you depend on for scoring along with Meechie go a combined 4-26, that is a big contributor to a loss. Yes, we gave up a couple key rebounds late, but we had more offensive rebounds (10-9) than Clemson and only lost the rebounding battle by 4. We just went stone cold after going up 11 in the second half and couldn’t get the momentum back. I think what stings is that the team teased us by showing what they could be in the first half. If you were a Gamecock fan like me, you went into this game with no expectations. Yes, we had a nice little start to the season with a good neutral site victory against Va.Tech, but could we really go in. and compete against an experienced squad that just got into the Top 25. Our guys answered that with an emphatic yes even though they struggled to shoot the ball. They made you believe they could win and that’s when a loss stings. If they would have went up there and got smoked by 20, you could say same old Carolina basketball and keep it moving. …and yes, Murray-Boyles needs to play. A Basketball season is not like a football season. It’s not all about the Clemson game. It’s about building a team and peaking in February and March. We beat Clemson last year. Did you really care by February when we’re like 2-10 in the SEC?
