Stage 3 added a little bit of fun today. Heavy rains on and off made for some riders down. The escape actually held on, and in doing so unfortunately put a Frenchman in yellow. That'll end in the mountains, though, and maybe tomorrow. The peleton fractured up as well, with Menchov finishing 40 seconds behind Valverde, Evans, and others. So, race on finally.

The first TT is tomorrow by the way. Cadel should make some noise for the GC contenders, and Hushovd is always on his game for these.

Deal with it, and just be glad I waited three stages before posting about it.

Well, right now some guy named William Frischkorn is the top placed American, but that's because he was in the break that succeeded today. He won't be there long. George Hincapie is a tour regular and was on all of Lance's teams. He's a threat for a stage win. Zabriskie is out after a bad crash in the Tour of California, and Levi Leiphamer is on Astana, who the Tour didn't let ride. That means the 1st and 3rd podium finishers from last year are out. Christian Vande Velde is the US rider with the best chance of getting to the podium, though it's a very long shot.

get busted for PED?

I guarantee that if some French guy wins the thing, there will be absolutely no discussion of PEDs. They couldn't stand Lance coming over and taking their race from them, and it really ticked them off for Landis to win it again the year after Lance retired from the race.
