After that stellar 2-10 season, I figured there would be more. There should be, and we should be happy about that.

No one is "gone" until they sign transfer papers to another school. They can always stay....we just have to re-recruit them.
What im seeing elsewhere. Of course they could resign here but for the money im seeing reported i would doubt it
It's like Thanksgiving with the family. When they all walk out the door you celebrate, put on your comfortable clothes, and wait on Christmas!
Is this money MVB wants, or money he is actually being offered from other schools?
My one real source told me mid-season Van Buren was getting offered crazy money from "big time" schools. I didn't ask how much or which schools. He told me today Van Buren is asking for $1M.
You're looking at this wrong, total number mean nothing. Number of contributors is what is important. Most of the players in the portal weren't going to get much PT. It's more of situation of them going to places that are better "fits."

I read that Sark's philiospy is once a player enters the portal, that player is gone from Texas forever. I wonder how many other coaches have the same thought?
It's not that I disagree, but I do see quite a few underclassmen in this group that we were very happy to sign once upon a time, and how much faith should we have in this staff being able to actually land better talent?
Between this season's results, our inability to spend like other schools, and the coaching staff itself, my magic 8 ball is telling me that we are going to be very underwhelmed with our portal haul
We lost two players that were decent. The rest aren't worth talking about except to say they weren't good and we misevaled them.
Depends. If they want guaranteed playing time and getting paid, probably a yes.
As I understand it, a player has to formally declare that he’s in the portal. Within minutes of that happening On3 has an article posted shouting from the rooftops that “PLAYER X Has Entered the Portal!!”
Unless I’ve missed it, I haven’t seen that article posted regarding MVB. If the article isn’t posted, the ones who are claiming “We’re losing MVB” look like nothing more than Chicken Littles (or perhaps UMiss trolls).

That’s true, lots of hearsay. Our own media people are the ones reporting he’s asking an outrageous amount though. Who knows.
Yea just saw that, i think some of the teams that were on him in HS like Maryland, Penn State, Rutgers, Pitt And Miami will show some interest.
Georgia only has 2 in the portal because they usually leave the team in handcuffs before the portal opens.
A lot of players don’t get all of their NIL if they don’t play in Bowl Game or Playoff game. We don’t have to worry about that.
