Anyone know of a charter bus/plane trip this weekend? Or anyone going and need an extra passenger to chip in on gas?
Hey bro, tell us what you saw on the line. What seems the problem? I always liked to hear your commentaryAnyone know of a charter bus/plane trip this weekend? Or anyone going and need an extra passenger to chip in on gas?
I’m still in the process of re-watching the game. Live it looks like we struggled getting push on some inside runs. I know Rattler missed a hot twice, and a back missed a pick up once.Hey bro, tell us what you saw on the line. What seems the problem? I always liked to hear your commentary
Great job bro, as always. So, at some point so we question the direction from satt or is it on the o line coach. I feel that it should be satt that needs to set the direction and go. We do look like a there was just a bunch of plays thrown in with a ton of 3 and outs. Other teams living in our backfield spells disaster. The tunnel screen on the first drive was WIDE open, and both the left guard and center whiff/were late on their release. If they are half a step quicker it’s 6!
I was disappointed with the run game, for more reasons that none. 1. We went back to trying what didn’t work last year. 2. Lack of push. 3. no plays in space.
1. Last year. We tried and tried in the first few games to run inside and outside zone. The scheme never melded with our guys. Zone blocking is tough and it has to be in sync across the board and with the backs. A few games in we switched to more of a gap scheme (power/counter). Those schemes worked well, and in my opinion our OL is made more for that than zone blocking.
2. If you’re going to run inside zone as your primary scheme you’ve got to do one of two things, vertical push through double teams (think Alabama) or compliment it with outside zone and get backers to flow. (Think old denver broncos with Terrell Davis).
3. For the life of me I can understand why we aren’t doing more with RPO / option/ and two back sets….as well as getting our playmakers the ball in space….
when I watch our offense I see a series of formations and plays. What I don’t see is a bread and butter! What’s OUR play? I have no idea. We don’t have anything we hang our hat on…..and that concerns me
Our OL doesn't seem to have the "I refuse to lose" attitude when it comes to blocking their assignment. Again, I don't know if this is a scheme issue and they have to think too much or what. I know the guys want to win the game but this looks like last year all over again. (except for the Mayo Bowl) How was that game different and didn't we learn something from that game?Great job bro, as always. It’s some of both. It’s the OCs job to put together an offensive system that has base plays and plays that protect the base balls. Then mix in your screens and your specials and you’ve got an offense. I don’t care how many different formations you get in, which seems to be Satt’s MO. I rewatched the first 8 plays and we used the same formation once. It’s all a little much to me. But I’ve always errored on the side of KISS.Great job bro, as always.
