If you found out that three of your favorite teams were playing near each other on the same weekend, on the road, would you plan a trip to attend all three?

(ex Phillies Friday night at Cubs, PSU Saturday at Northwestern, and Eagles on Sunday at Chicago).

I put together Penn State's schedule and surrounding events.

I'm curious to see if this is helpful - or if a tool that automatically notifies you when your teams/artists are playing near each other would be more valuable.

Not sure if I would be willing to pay for something like that so how would you monetize it? That would be a fun weekend if the planets aligned like that.

A few years back, we took the kids to a Little League World Series game, stopped in State College for dinner then went to a Steelers pre season game the next day. We stayed at the hotel across the street from the Pirates stadium and I believe they played San Francisco that evening. Thought about going, but it was still scorching hot and I was trying to rehydrate after the day in Heinz. 🍻

You wouldn't pay for the app, but the old adage stands. If you don't pay for the product, you are the product. The ultimate exit would be to sell to a travel company like Expedia, Orbitz, etc.. They have the ability to monetize via bookings, affiliate, cross-sell, and ad revenues.

Many years ago Jenna Jameson, Jill Kelly, and Kobe Tai were frequenting the local ballet theater. It was worth the trip.

We have done hockey double headers with Devils in Newark and WBS Penguins in Wilkes-Barre. In 2009 we did the Canadiens at Blackhawks and PSU Northwestern game. A fun trip.
Our best trip was in 2008. Suns at Bulls Friday night. PSU at Iowa Saturday night. Titans at Bears on Sunday.

The Niners are playing in Chicago this fall, at the same time that the Cubbies are hosting the G-men. I have a number of friends who are going back for that weekend. I am going to Cal vs. Notre Dame in September and PSU vs Indiana in November (in Indiana), so I think I will have to miss the Chicago soiree. But those getaways are REALLY fun.

When is the White Out game, again? I have a jonesy to go to another one.

Up in the air as the OSU game looks like a nooner and the prior week Minny game is homecoming and usually a nooner too.

I call that “affinity scheduling”. Would love to see the leagues figure out a way to have multiple teams from the same city visit another city at the same time.

I look for weekends when I can do Penn State on Saturday and the Bills on Sunday.

I’d go to the PSU game and skip the pro games to scout out the area coffee shops.

I go to every penn state game in most years and honestly I very rarely look to attend an additional sporting event. I will say I do not usually have the ability to extend my trip on the front or back end. Another thing is, I enjoy the Friday night experience as much as the game. There is nothing better than getting in town early Friday and walking around campus, and hitting the local establishments for drinks and then eventually a dinner at the place where the home fans go.

I completely agree that spending time on an opponent’s campus is one of my favorite things to do. I also try to catch the Bills the next day if it all possible. We’ve been fortunate to do it a couple of times and it makes for an incredible weekend. Instead of flying home Sunday morning, we catch a late flight and spend the day with Bills Mafia. Nothing better. Unfortunately, the stars don’t always align on the schedule.
