That's Hinkey Haines. He played on both a World Series champion and an NFL champion. PSU '19.
Bingo! Congrats!
He played on the 1923 Yankees and was in center field when the last out of the World Series was made. Oddly, it was his last professional baseball game. Babe Ruth was a teammate.
He played as a halfback for the 1927 NY Giants and tied for the team lead in touchdowns with 6. Jim Thorpe was a teammate.
He is the only man to have played on a Championship team in both sports.

So I googled the 1927 football Giants. Only two of their games were against franchises which still exist - the Chicago Bears and the Chicago Cardinals.

Turns out the only blemishes on the Giants' record that year were a loss and a tie. Both were against the Cleveland Bulldogs. In 1928 the Bulldogs were sold and moved to Detroit to become the Wolverines. Giants owner Tim Mara wanted to acquire the Bulldogs/Wolverines QB Benny Friedman. Instead of working a trade, he simply bought the Wolverines and absorbed them into the Giants. It's crazy that the league would allow a current owner to buy a second franchise. That wouldn't fly nowadays.

Didn't Deion Sanders win a World Series ring with Atlanta and a super bowl with San Fran or Dallas

no the Braves lost the series
Despite Sanders' performance, the Braves ultimately lost to the Toronto Blue Jays in six games.[26] In Game 3, he narrowly avoided being a victim of what would have been only the second triple play in World Series history (following Bill Wambsganss's unassisted triple play in 1920).

Correct. Our man, Hinkey, played on teams that won Championships in both sports.

The New York baseball Yankees had a much better season than the New York football Yankees in 1927. I never knew the football Yankees even existed. The football Giants played in the Polo Grounds while the football Yankees played in Yankee Stadium.

I wonder if we’ll ever see this again. We had Bo Jackson and Deion Sanders and Brian Jordan there for a while. I haven’t even heard of it being a consideration in a long time though. With how much guys treat the job as a year round profession now with no offseason, perhaps it can’t work.
