Go out there and make mistakes and don't be afraid to make mistakes.

We need to stop turning the ball over so much. :ROFLMAO:

Context is important.

The former quote is relating to spring practice. Telling players, essentially, to go all out in practice and find out what they're good at and bad at by making mistakes instead of just playing reserved and only doing what you feel safe doing.

The latter quote is relating to cutting down on turnovers in games.

Both are fair statements.

Delay coming out of a timeout should be the fast track to Hades
If delay of game is the unforgivable sin of football, what is a delay of game coming out of a timeout? :ROFLMAO: We have had those in the past, but I don't recall any this past year.
I am pretty sure we had one coming out of a quarter change on TV ( which means the timeout was even longer).

It would be nice to cut down on the negative plays. Seems like every other run was a tackle for loss this past year.

He could start with eliminating the unforgiveable sin of football, the delay of game.

We literally started the 2015 season in Charlotte with a delay of game! 1st freakin' attempt at an offensive play.........................whistle.........................delay of game, offense, 5 yard penalty, repeat first down!

I do recall that.

It was an ominous and ignominious start for the short-lived Connor Mitch era.

Set the tone for that season. He's forgiven. At least you knew HBC could call a ballplay good enough to gain 15 yards. There were a few times I thought he let the clock expire because he thought of a better play against the defense right before it would be called in. But when you have to fight for every inch, as with BOOM! and early in this rebuild, it can be a drive killer on first down.

But thank you for clarifying.

No, but we did once or twice come out of stoppages of play and have to call a timeout to avoid a delay of game penalty on the first play. That's not good, either.

How do you know we didn't? I'm not sure of who we went after or not, but on paper and hearing Dowell talk it sounds like we may have gotten a steal only time will tell, but as I've read these boards over time there is no doubt most of you were ready to move on from Satterfield, I'm interested in seeing what Loggains can do. One thing he said right off the bat was that you have to get your best players the ball a concept that took way to long for Sat to realize!

It killed me when Sat used to say he didn’t plan for a certain player, or that a clearly great athlete with the ball wasn’t ready. That’s your job to figure out how to give THOSE GUYS the ball.

But I digress…time to move along.

Two things our offense must eliminate:
1. Mid range screen pass which usually gains 1 yard or less.
2. Inside zone run middle which usually gains 1 yard or less.
These two plays are the definition of insanity i.e. doing the same thing
over and over yet hoping for a different result.

Maybe it’s execution, there are teams that run those plays very well and it all starts with timely play calling and blocking!

You are right about other teams having success running these two plays. But for us, they are both plays of futility which is why Loggains must drop them or relegate them to the bottom of the play list.
