When you get a little money and a little success and a little respect and attention, it goes right to your head and you think you've arrived and you stop working and you get lazy and you lose. This is the virus that every team has to fight against.

Jordan was the best because he out worked every person every day. He compelled other teammates to do the same. Can't be the coach that brings it every day. Won't work. Has to be a player or several players that are leaders.

Hate to be the one that says it but Buzz Williams at Texas A&M is probably the best at getting his players to work hard. Jans is probably getting our team to play hard as well, other than the Butler game - I think we were tired from travel/sleep/etc that game.

But yeah, watch A&M body language and the team bustin their butts on the floor. Not just some games. All games.

So, it's everybody's fault but his. OK. I get that the system isn't perfect by any stretch. But YOU hired those assistant coaches, YOU recruited those players. It's YOUR team. There's other teams in the country that manage to play hard. It's your responsibility to see that your team does too.

I'd take there names off their jerseys and give them back one at a time when they've earned it. We'd also be running way more hustle drills in practice. He's got to figure out a way for his team to compete somewhere or they won't compete in the game.

Problem is that in today's world, players know they get paid win or lose, playing or sitting on the bench. They don't need to win or be on the court to develop their "brand". Or their drip/fit to impress the ladies, which of couse, is all that life is about, impressing the ladies with your look and style, focus on them buying into your "brand". You have already accomplished all you have planned for life, you are on the D1 team and a first round NBA pick just waiting to have an easy life with fame and fortune. This is what the UCLA coach means as being "delusional". NBA is international and virtually no one playing USA college basketball works hard enough to make the NBA.

That Butler game might keep their heads level. It might actually end up helping.

One small item- HE is getting paid over $4 million a year to coach basketball and motivate the players. $4 million a year to motivate basketball players to play a kid's sport they loved growing up. This isn't the "W" the Coach think it is.

Butler is 1-8 and has lost 8 straight since beating us. This might end up being a bad loss.
It's a very bad loss, but it won't make any difference in the end. It's our only bad loss, particularly if we beat South Carolina on the road. And the rest of the schedule will be strong enough, it won't even be noticed at year end.

That is a fair statement, I am sure there are players and coaches that don't see him as the great coach that he sees himself as.

There are many ways to inspire and motivate a team. It is fair to say that is one of the reasons a coach gets paid 7 figures a year.
