Kirby said he wanted 4 qbs on scholarship and that is what he has now. I'm surprised the UNLV kid went there. I think he will be third string at best at UGA. Beck, Stockton, UNLV guy (maybe) and Puglisi is about the best I can imagine for him.
I guess now that he has transferred, he can't go back in the portal after Spring and play immediately anywhere. He has used his one free transfer.
Good Point. Hell He can just transfer next year though. He'll have 3 years into college not to mention the summer classes and any credit he began with and then if we has an early enrollee an extra semester.
not to get off track, but that's what's crazy about the portal allowing free transfers and then grad transfer. These kids enroll early with many already having 6-12 credits. Then get 15 first semester, then have to take a class each summer session to participate in summer workouts. There's 3 summer sessions so that's at least 9 credits each summer. So if they enroll early, even with no credits:
*Most schools require 120ish credit hours per degree
Spring Semester Prior to Freshman Season - 15 credits
Summer Prior to Freshman Season - 9 credits
Freshman year (Fall & Spring) - 30 credits
Summer Prior to Soph (or RS Fresh) - 9 credits
Soph Year (RS Fresh) - 30 credits
Summer Prior to Jr Year (RS Soph) - 9 credits
Jr. Fall Sem (RS Soph) - 15 credits
=117 credits. This is is 0 credits from HS an only 1 class per summer session. Add 1 class in and the guy has graduated in 2.5 years. So if they redshirt, they could use a free transfer after freshman or RS freshman year, then transfer again freely after RS Soph/Junior Season as a graduate.
The portal will calm down a bit after the 2024 portal cycle because the covid year players will have aged out, so transfers won't be transferring twice with 2-3 years of eligibility left too often.
