Last year. They went 11-6 and made the playoffs with Flacco as the QB and with Chubb getting hurt and missing most of the year. Had the #1 ranked defense in the NFL. They’ve got talent on that team, especially on defense and the O-line.

They have occasional blips, but that’s all they are. The Browns have five total playoff wins since 1969. Five playoff wins in 55 years. That is embarrassingly bad.

From what was reported ownership was still 100% behind Watson and they wanted no controversy about it. They knew if they kept Flacco that the fans would be screaming to put him in so they simply avoided that problem all together. With the amount of money they have sunk in Watson they want him playing no matter what in the hopes he somehow rediscovers his greatness.
