I did not realize that UL’s schedule currently only has ONE ranked opponent. Holy crap that has to be the easiest P4 schedule in the country!!
Wrong, While Stoops is not a great coach, if he coached UL in the ACC he would have won several ACC championships and probably would have had UL in the playoffs. There schedule doesnt matter, Brohm is a better coach than stoops. Last year was a sign of what we can expect.
I would love to see Brohm play Georgia, LSU, UT, Florida or Alabama. He would never beat any of these teams. NEVER! On Stoops worst day he is head and shoulders a better coach than Brohm. There schedule doesnt matter, Brohm is a better coach than stoops. Last year was a sign of what we can expect.
He would have ACC level talent not the SEC players he has now so I'm not sure that is true. His style of offense isn't going to win in a lot of leagues if he has comparable talent.Wrong, While Stoops is not a great coach, if he coached UL in the ACC he would have won several ACC championships and probably would have had UL in the playoffs.

Nobody is bashing your BFF. We are saying that Stoops is a better coach than Brohm and if he played in the ACC facing weak teams every week, he would do better than Brohm.Oh good. A thread about ULs schedule has turned into another Stoops bashing thread. So original.
I care, because I hate UL and want them to lose every game. But when they play Spencerian College every week, they win. And that's all you can hear. So yeah, I care.Who cares about their schedule? We play them so we’ll figure out whose better.
He aways said UK was a basketball School in a Coference where the two most popular sports are football and Spring football.I saw a pic of Oscar Combs on this message board earlier (can’t recall if basketball or football board) but this thread reminded me of Oscar’s early days after founding Cata Pause and he was a lead writer in the newsletter. He always maintained that we would be way more successful if we competed in the Big 10 or the ACC. That was the 70’s and hasn’t changed.

UofL has Georgia on the schedule next year! But Georgia will try and get out of it watch.I would love to see Brohm play Georgia, LSU, UT, Florida or Alabama. He would never beat any of these teams. NEVER! On Stoops worst day he is head and shoulders a better coach than Brohm.
I think I can figure it out now....hahaWho cares about their schedule? We play them so we’ll figure out whose better.
And UKGood thing they padded their non-conf schedule with heavyweights like Bowling Green.
The only credit Vince would deserve would be for sabotaging our roster while still on our payroll.Gonna hurt when Vince Marrow whoops out butt this year. But will also be eye opening.. can’t blame him for the move honestly. Life’s short why waste any time being around Stoops when he won’t change.
I'm not really buying that it would be so much easier to recruit as a perennial SEC bottom feeder as opposed to winning 9-10 games a year in the ACC.He would have ACC level talent not the SEC players he has now so I'm not sure that is true. His style of offense isn't going to win in a lot of leagues if he has comparable talent.
Oh I agree. My point was more of everyone Knows Stoops is done. The only credit Vince would deserve would be for sabotaging our roster while still on our payroll.
100000% this !!!Who cares about their schedule? We play them so we’ll figure out whose better.
We better hope not because he is likely here another year or two at least. Given the schedules we play the prognosis is pretty dicey unless we can add some legitimate difference makers to the roster. Whoever the OC is next year must be considerably better than what Hamden has shown.Oh I agree. My point was more of everyone Knows Stoops is done.
I’m not being a smart *** or sarcastic but from reading your statement it seems you have a small ounce of hope in Stoops? Or is it you want him to be better because we are stuck with him? If it’s the first thing I said then that’s surprising because I thought 100% of BBN is done. And if it’s the second part I believe this is his last year. I’m not buying it that he is here next year. Things are bad but last night I think really did it for the state of Kentucky. He is gone. His buyout will be worked out. He may get the full amount he is owed but he is gone. They might have to pay him in chunks over time or he will have a little integrity and step down. Just my opinion of course I’m not saying that in a know it all manner. We better hope not because he is likely here another year or two at least. I don't see any reason to think he would take any less than what he is owed if forced out. To pay that buyout would likely cripple this program for a good while. As I said the task looks daunting and it's hard to muster much confidence but if we could land the right OC and add some true difference makers to the roster then I could absolutely see it turning around. Those are huge if's at this point though. Unless he leaves voluntarily I think our best bet for now is to root for him and hope for the best.I’m not being a smart *** or sarcastic but from reading your statement it seems you have a small ounce of hope in Stoops? UK has had several very good OCs during Stoops tenure, but for whatever reason, they didn't work out.I don't see any reason to think he would take any less than what he is owed if forced out. No doubt man. I don’t hate Stoops. As long as he’s coaching UK I want him to succeed.I don't see any reason to think he would take any less than what he is owed if forced out. I think it's mostly just a matter of going against SEC defenses with the talent we have to work with. As I pointed out in another post there is a huge difference in success with Gran and Cohen vs. everyone else. Just because an OC succeeds elsewhere doesn't guarantee it translates to this situation.UK has had several very good OCs during Stoops tenure, but for whatever reason, they didn't work out.
That's true but I wasn't even thinking about those two. More like Dawson and Brown.I think it's mostly just a matter of going against SEC defenses with the talent we have to work with. I have zero complaint about him considering the A&M job. It seems perfectly logical to me at that point for him to consider a much better situation with a chance to win at a higher level. No doubt man. I don’t hate Stoops. As long as he’s coaching UK I want him to succeed.
I give him credit for everything he’s accomplished here. He raised the bar. He made me have hope that we could be a good program. We were a good (tough) team there for a four or five year run. Even if it was during a weak SEC east or whatever they say.
My problem is he doesn’t even want to be here. Nobody can change my mind that he didn’t have his bags packed headed to A&M before the Louisville game. I believe they had his contract ready and everything and already verbally made a deal with him until news broke and the A&M fans went absolutely nuts.
that’s my problem with Stoops is he allowed us to get embarrassed last year during the Louisville game because he was done coaching at UK. We had players at the concession stands during the game. How embarrassing. It was to me anyway.
I believe he was on his way to Texas with a **** eating grin ready to whoop our *** this year and talk **** while doing it. It all backfired and now we are stuck with Calapari on steroids! HE DOESNT want to be here so as a fan of Kentucky why should I support him anymore? I support the team no matter what.
I acknowledge he had a decent run and put our program in a better place but he is going the opposite direction now and needs to go by any means necessary. He’s done. He’s turned into a big fat excuse maker. There’s a reason A&M fans revolted the way they did. They are a real SEC program and weren’t about to accept a level below mediocrity. BBN has the power to do the same thing. And I believe we will.
to sum it up he has to go. He will be gone after this year. I would bet everything I have on it.
We were really lacking in talent when Brown was here. I thought he was really good given what he had to work with. I didn't see much in Dawson in his short time here. That's true but I wasn't even thinking about those two. More like Dawson and Brown.
I don’t blame anybody for wanting to do what they feel is better for them. I don’t feel bad for wanting him to go do that and get the hell out of Kentucky. Vandy kicked bamas *** last year and other big teams. Stoops hasn’t won a single big game in thirteen years. Not one!!! Please don’t mention the citrus bowl please. Half of Pen states team didn’t play while we had our all time leading rusher and a nfl qb that played in that game and we barely snuck that out. He hasn’t beaten Bama or Georgia in thirteen years!!!! Please Stoops go advance your career anywhere in the country just get the Hell out of Kentucky.I have zero complaint about him considering the A&M job. It seems perfectly logical to me at that point for him to consider a much better situation with a chance to win at a higher level.
Also that’s my point. I don’t think he considered it. I think he accepted it quick fast and in a hurry and had to turn the jet around mid flight when the fans revolted.I have zero complaint about him considering the A&M job. It seems perfectly logical to me at that point for him to consider a much better situation with a chance to win at a higher level.
I just don't see why it matters myself. Why would it have been wrong to accept a great opportunity? Two very different coaches and different eras but if Bear Bryant would have ended up back here after deciding to leave for A&M wouldn't you have welcomed him back with open arms. Also that’s my point. I don’t think he considered it. I think he accepted it quick fast and in a hurry and had to turn the jet around mid flight when the fans revolted.
Had this same discussion with my Dad and he swears Stoops turned down the job because he just loves Kentucky so much…. The man was on a jet outta here.
