not once in my life heard a negative thing about ANY msu graduate in the professional field. As a matter of fact, when someone finds out that i went to msu 9 times out of 10 they know or knew someone personally or through a friend or family member that speaks very highly of them. It is incredible really. Anything from construction, to engineering, to business, to accounting, to sales, to whatever else...They always say how sharp they are/were.

entrance requirements, thanks to the Ayers case. And anywhere in the south, it's fine. Go up north, and people will laugh at any school in the whole state.

I agree. It's really f'n stupid. However, this shouldn't surprise or upset you. It's not like you don't see these same idiotic type post everyday at Jeanshort's page or the Spirit. You'd be a busy man if you challenged every stupid smack post that showed up on those boards. I don't see how those same posters (vinnyvegas, msu76, etc) can engage in the same smack type threads everyday without getting tired of it. It seems the snobby OM jokes & the MSU agriculture jokes w/smiley faces never get old to them.

My roommates/teammates in college were from Arizona. I tried to explain to them how there is a stereotype that MSU alums are rednecks and UM alums are snobby pricks. He explained to me that the nation thinks of Mississippi people as rednecks whether you wear maroon or red and blue. It's just the way it is.

In my profession, MSU graduates like myself are constantly laughed at. A degree from Ole Miss is much more prestigious.

How is this for irony?

I went to UMC for OT school. When I applied there, I asked the teachers at UMC if any schools prepared their students better, because I lacked a few prerequisites. (Bear in mind this teacher had no idea that I went to State) And he said that they like to take MSU and Delta State students because they are so well prepared. And obviously I got in, maybe partially because of my MSU degree.

I call ********.

The same teacher told me Ole Miss was best.

Either way, the poster mentioned about could easily have been a MSU troll.

******** on your ********.

Mainly becuase I'm sure that:

1. You know which teacher I was talking about.

2. You're not in OT school.

By the way, the reasoning was because of MSU's strong biological science programs.

And for creedence, every State grad that was in my OT school class graduated except for one. The one that failed went to UAB and graduated. We had three Ole Miss grads that failed out of nine or so. Don't feel bad, though, the same teacher said that Jackson State prepared students the worst (surprise). He didn't think real high of Mississippi College either.

We have 3 MSU engineering grads in our building (pretty big building) who are dubmasses. Actually, one is pretty smart but a lazy POS. The other two are ridiculed quite often. That said, the most highly respected guy to ever work in the building once told be that MSU & Tenn. Tech. did the best job of preparing their engineering grads. I also graduated with a couple that were dubmasses.

I always hear UM trumpet about their business and accounting departments, but hasn't MSU come away with the best CPA exam pass rates in the past couple of years? And wasn't the college of business and industry accredited by the AACSB before UM?

to justifying why OM costs double what MSU costs per year. If you have to pay twice as much for something ex: a brand new television, car, or wife you automatically think yours is better because you paid twice as much as your neighbor did for his brand new television, car, or wife although they look and perform exactly the same they just have a different label on them.

Since when did it cost twice as much to attend OM? This is a ridiculous thread.

Why go search for some idiotic post on Gene's or Spirit and then rant against it all over the message boards (saw where orignal poster posting on om boards too)? You're (original poster) just bringing the stupidity over here.

now i dont have to walk around saying everyone from state is better than everyone else and all our graduates bat .1000

My dad, graduate from state and then UAB for dental school, was told the same by his professors regarding preparation. Dad said he was years ahead of many of his classmates...also said that had he not gone to state he wouldnt have ever gotten in like those guys because they were much smarter.

Either way, it is always good to hear things about your school....BUT you only hear that **** in the south as others have said...

Oh, the irony of batting .1000 in the thread about which school is better......some of Polk's boys did bat about .1000 this year I think. Cohen will have at least three guys bat 1.000 next year though.
