Just saw the game isn’t going to sting THAT much but still a good sting.

Win has us dropping to 20
Lose has us dropping to 25

that’s taking 0 account into other teams and what they do around us, but not a lot are playing mid week games this week.

bubble games: both ucsb and duke have chances to make big jumps today in the mid week with wins. UCSB win would jump them all the way to 15.

TBH it may be better to be a 2 seed in a weak Regional than hosting to get to a Super.

I just don’t agree at all that we still need 6 wins to host. Win all four this week and there’s like a 95% chance that’s enough. The only way we might need multiple wins in Hoover is if we don’t sweep this week.

UC Riverside to win 2-3 vs UCSB
Houston to win 2-3 vs Oklahoma St
MS State to win 3 vs Missouri
That may do it without needing a W or two in Hoover
Both Oklahoma and ECU canceled games yesterday vs decent opponents.

Why would it be better for us to be a 2 seed rather than hosting?

It may be a better path for the team to get to Omaha by being a strong #2 in a regional with a week #1 but it certainly better for the fans and the NCAA pocketbook for us to host. It really just depends the matchup in each regional.

Yes Oklahoma state is a strong candidate

and yes agree nc state is as well. They win two at north carolina it won’t bump UNC from hosting and will almost certainly get nc state resume inside the top 16

Sometimes hosting, we get a stud team thrown into the Starkvegas mix. Somebody like a UTK equivalent. So yeah, you can certainly be right on that. Of course, I'd rather host even if we did make an early exit. Our lack of a quality and deep bullpen will not allow us to get very far anyway.
