IIRC Eddie Fogler didn't want to schedule them because uNC was his alma mater....I know we played a few games against then during his tenure but he didn't like playing them.

I could be wrong, but I seem to remember that was the prevailing opinion but Fogler himself said that he wanted to play UNC but they would not schedule us.

It's coming back to me a little, now. I believe that UNC would not play us on a home and home basis. Only play in Charlotte or Chapel Hill. And Fogler, to his credit, said he would not give UNC that sort of advantage. (We played UNC when Felton was coach.)
