Weird stuff happens in basketball and good teams pick up bad losses, and one off the wall loss isn't going to derail an otherwise solid tournament team, which I think we are based on watching us play (granted I didn't see the GT or Southern game). That said, that southern loss was just inexplicably bad. Just truly wtf level. But if it's not a sign of major locker room troubles, I don't know that it means any more than the more typical surprising bad loss.

Southern is 174 NET/129 RPI today according to Warren Nolan, but they will be below 300 by Selection Sunday. That loss will leave a damned mark!

The committee will take into account that we have been without our best player…as they tally up our resume. We will need to win a couple extra games on the road in league play by more than 10-12 points to make up ground….but it’s completely doable.

The GT loss is crossed out by the NWstern win. So we are basically sitting at 1 loss in the eyes of the committee at the moment. We need to handle Rutgers in this upcoming game.

I expect Jans to begin settling into a more consistent rotation and filing guys into roles for the season going forward.
