Can’t stand those brothers. Pulling for US of course, but wouldn’t have hurt my feeling to see them get their asses kicked.

Yeah, fighting on ice = dumb and boring. Not sure why so many get excited by it. Even dumber when it’s planned out. Just play hockey. We can have a fight club in the tunnel in sneakers after.

Couldn’t agree more. Shocking that it’s still a “thing” in 2025.

Believe it was Bill Simmons that said it’s pretty ironic that guys that fight in the NFL or NBA are seen as thugs, but guys doing it in hockey are seen as tough.

And women who do it are seen as sluts.

Hockey would be more interesting if they took the sticks away for the second period and just fought instead.

It’s not really that hard to understand. It’s a fight. I saw fights in the hallways in high school over some ridiculous nonsense. I never walked by and kept going to my class though, I stopped and watched the fights. And I didn’t see many other people walking away either. It’s the same thing.

High school hallway the same as an organized sporting event? Disagree.

But you're not walking down a hallway ... you're watching a hockey game ... unless you're saying hockey fans think hockey games are so boring, they're like walking down the hallway at school.

Also, you're describing a rubbernecking type of situation ... you're driving, as you always do, and suddenly there's a car accident. You're walking down the hall, and suddenly, there's a fight. You typically aren't so excited about the accident or fight that you're cheering and posting about it. You look, and then you go about your business. But hockey fans LOVE this stuff.

And it's not even the fight itself that's at issue ... it's fighting on ice ... on skates ... dumb. Fight for real, where you can get footing, if you're going to fight. Fight until someone is knocked out, taps out or is dead, if you're manly enough to settle something by fighting ... instead, a few fists fly as people slip around, someone flops to the ground and then they call it. Why bother?

As I said in my first post, hockey fights these days are too theatrical and staged. At this point, you’re firing punches looking to connect in about an inch of space under the shield. I did enjoy hockey fights when there was some actual passion behind it. At this point it’s about as stupid as an NFL team recovering a fumble and sprinting 60 yards to the end zone for a choreographed dance routine. I don’t like it, but it’s part of the game these days.

Here's the difference in professional sports all-star games: The NFL Pro Bowl is now flag football. NBA players don't even break a sweat playing any defense in the NBA All-Star game. In the NHL, they're pounding away at each other not even 10 seconds into the game.

Can't wait to watch the Cobras v. Panthers on ice tonight ...

The last time the NHL staged an actual game as an All-Star game, the score was 17-12. I can only assume that the defensive intensity in that game had everyone dripping in sweat.

Who wins?

USA

Canada

Given the injuries on the US roster and the fact that they won match #1, you have to like the Hosers chances tonight.
