When I was getting my masters at Tulane, I played intramural basketball with Derek Mills, who won gold in the 4x400 relay at the 1996 Olympics. It's one thing to see a guy on TV, but it is amazing to see a guy that fast in person. It was like everyone else was in slow motion.

He sucked on the offensive end, but he was so unbelievably quick that we used to have him play a one-man press to disrupt the other team when they were trying to bring the ball up the court. Heck of a nice guy, too.

So, I guess you can say I partied with a gold-medal winner.

He made that look incredibly easy. If Tyson Gay wins, then that will be a tremendous accomplishment.

I don't know I've ever seen a gold medal winner coast and look around before finishing the race.

LSU guy who doesn't play football gets the silver.

but it will be interesting to see if he beats Michael Johnson's world record...assuming Johnson still has the world record.

19.32 seconds. I once ran the 40 a shade under that.

...I mean, that wasn't a high school meet where he just dusted the field. It was the freaking Olympics. Like everyone else, I'd love to know what he would've run if he hadn't celebrated the last 20.
