Really doesn't concern me, and I honestly haven't paid much attention to the polls. Granted, that's probably because it has been almost 5 years since the last time my team has appeared in them. However, I still don't see it as big news at this point.

The talking heads will discuss it, but it'll all play out as the season progresses. And for that matter, who finishes No. 1 really isn't that big of a deal. I know it factors in differently in the BCS calculations, but 1 and 2 are basically the same, and if you're the unanimous No. 2 in both polls, you're likely going to be No. 1 or 2 in the latest calculation of the BCS standings.

because later in the season they'll likely justify keeping an overrated team highly ranked by saying, "well, they haven't lose so we can't drop them any, it would be unfair." The media infatuation with USC is mind boggling.

they will get rolled in the coliseum. They might get rolled either way. That will eliminate OSU from the national title talk and that will make me happy. But the bad thing is that will pave the way for USC to make the title game.

moving into the top 20 after some big wins, but after the first game of the season you think they are #15 really?

Georgia will get leapfrogged this coming week by OSU so that they can have a No. 1 vs. No. 2 match up in week 3. Just wait.

Then they may move Florida and Georgia back up to No. 1 and No. 2 in time for the Cocktail party, even if USC hasn't lost yet.

Georgia played Georgia Southern - 45-21 (GSU was 7-4 last year and did not go to the D1AA playoffs)

Ohio State played Youngstown St. - 43 -0 (YSU was 7-4 last year and did not go to the D1AA playoffs)

Florida played Hawai'i - 56-10 (Hawai'i WAS good last year, but got pummeled 41-10 by UGA)

Oklahoma played Chattanooga - 57-2 (UTC was 2-9 last year, one of the 2 teams they beat was Georgia Southern)

Texas played Florida Atlantic - 52-10 (FAU was 8-5 last year and beat the snot out of Memphis in the NO Bowl... they were, however, 1-4 against BCS teams and were out score 220-108 in 5 games)

USC played Virginia - 52-7 (Virginia lucked through their season last year...)

As I see it, the only teams that have a dog in this fight are Florida, Texas, and USC... since they are the only ones who actually played D1A teams with anything remotely resembling credibility.

There will be a common opponent this year with UGA and USC. ASU. I think both teams will remind Dennis Erickson of two truths. The Pac10 is not the SEC. The Pac10 is USC and everybody else.

Remember when you couldn't wait for the new polls to come out to see where we were. Did we move up? Did we break into the Top 25?........Damn I miss that.

6 straight BCS bowls and 6 straight 11 win seasons. Media, money, and connections don't have jack to do with that.

What's the Pac 10's record against the SEC the last 8-10 years? USC has two wins each over Ark and Auburn. UCLA beat Alabama twice and UT. Oregon beat MSU twice, UT and Cal split two games. LSU beat Arizona twice, ASU and OSU. Auburn beat WSU.

Since 2003 the Pac 10 is 40-30 in OOC games against BCS conference teams and 6-5 against the SEC. The SEC is 55-43. There's not a big gap between the two.
