He will now see Paniro Johnson in round 2 instead of Henson. Everyone bumped due to 9 seed Milner being out of the tournament.

Doesn't affect RBY at all.

Oh wait, you meant Van Ness. Not a lot of difference. Before he'd face Henson in Round 2 and Johnson in the quarters; now that's reversed. Slight benefit in getting the more familiar opponent a round earlier.

Murin benefits. He would've faced Millner (who beat him 8-1 last year) in Round 2. Millner withdrew, so now Murin gets Abas; they've faced once, at 2021 nationals, Abas 2-1 in rideouts. Still slotted against Yianni in the quarters, but now more likely to get there.

Teske's path got harder. Originally he was to face Phillippi, then Nagao. Now he opens with Byrd; Round 2 would be Colaiocco.

I've only looked at this from SVN's perspective. Ultimately, I have him finishing similarly (R12), but a tougher path to get there.

SVN will have a fight to get to an AA this year! He has so much potential, he is a shoot machine, got to finish, not great at defense (yet), if he can round out his game, like RBY and Lee did, great things ahead, if not, maybe another Shakur. Excited for this weekend!

I personally think Van Ness will be fine this weekend. Get him into day 2 and 3 and his relentless pace will take its toll on opponents.

He’s got twice the gas tank that Shakur had.

Also maybe half the scoring potential. I’m in the boat that the seed bump hurts SVN. He was not close to scoring against Paniro and it doesn’t seem like he’s progressed in that department throughout the year. I haven’t really watched Henson this year but was just hopeful that a game SVN could knock off a true freshman. Hopefully he gets that chance
