Nothing but fly balls and Ks today. Too many called strikes. The approach we had friday is MIA.

The switch of Brewer and Wimmer pays off. Tie game Wimmer still in scoring position with one out

Might be the first time I've seen what should be a routine ground ball hit to the heavy side of a shift and still make it all the way to the outfield. Unreal

LeCroy deserves another game ball…..from Vandy. What’s that like five errors in two days? Why in the heck with the bases loaded and two outs would you be playing up close where a hot grounder can get by you. Especially on turf. It’s been a minute since I’ve played baseball, but I thought you played normal depth when you need one out.

I wasn't watching but you play normal depth or even deep with two outs unless you think a bunt may be coming. Very doubtful they are bunting in that situation but who knows.

I know errors crushed us today.
But our hitting was nothing to brag about either. Our best games seem to come when we are multi-dimensional from start to finish. Worst are when we try to become that way around the 7th inning. For whatever reason, we sometimes lose sight of being a well rounded offense until we feel l like we have to be. I just dont get it.

We did’t work the count much like we have been, looked a lot like last year this week! Lots of strikeouts as well!

This was going to be a tough series for us. Good thing is we know we can compete with them, even when we aren’t sharp. I do miss the days of solid Gamecock defense.

This was my takeaway as well. We played terribly and still had the game in arm's length. Clean things up and we win the series. At this point, the ugly play hasn't happened nearly as much as it did this weekend so I'll chalk it up to a rough weekend. Come out next weekend and win the series and we still are in fantastic shape.

I'd chalk some of it to playing on turf....maybe a good bit. Thirty-six games and I think 4 have been on turf and it appears our error rate is higher on turf.

Alright, think I've seen enough from Lecroy now.
Couldn't watch today.
Said the same yesterday, but throwing errors were the problem not the turf. Until this series he's been solid. Let's see if turf was the issue this weekend.
If errors continue, we could move LeCroy to DH, Hornung to RF and Petry to 3B.

Exactly, half way through the conference and I still think we’re growing and figuring some things out and I have faith we will this year! Tough road though, with top 10 type schedule left!

With Mcgillis coming back you could take a look at Braswell at 3rd.

And we did it without McGillis. Getting him back will be huge if is his old self and not rusty.

With a man on third, the third baseman needs to play even with the bag, or thereabouts

It sucks losing that series but thank goodness we don't have to hear that goofy whistler anymore. He's like sweat when it gets in your eyes or jock itch. Very irritating.

Less than two, yes. 2 outs and the bases loaded, he can play a bit deeper.
Just watched the replay. That was a very costly error in a very close game.
He got caught on the in between hop which could have been avoided by playing back a few steps or charging the ball for the big hop. LeCroy is listed as a catcher, so I'm not sure of his 3B experience.
