I don’t know his batting average but it better be damn high to keep a third baseman that makes error after error after errorAlright, think I've seen enough from Lecroy now.
I wasn't watching but you play normal depth or even deep with two outs unless you think a bunt may be coming. Very doubtful they are bunting in that situation but who knows.LeCroy deserves another game ball…..from Vandy. What’s that like five errors in two days? Why in the heck with the bases loaded and two outs would you be playing up close where a hot grounder can get by you. Especially on turf. It’s been a minute since I’ve played baseball, but I thought you played normal depth when you need one out.
it cost us two games type of errors too.I don’t know his batting average but it better be damn high to keep a third baseman that makes error after error after error
We are unbeatable imo when we can show power but still capable of using a more finesse two strike swing. We missed that todayWe did’t work the count much like we have been, looked a lot like last year this week! Lots of strikeouts as well!
I'll take another SEC half season, 10 wins in remaining conference games like we our team just did.We will bounce back.
This was my takeaway as well. We played terribly and still had the game in arm's length. Clean things up and we win the series. At this point, the ugly play hasn't happened nearly as much as it did this weekend so I'll chalk it up to a rough weekend. Come out next weekend and win the series and we still are in fantastic shape. This was going to be a tough series for us. Good thing is we know we can compete with them, even when we aren’t sharp. I do miss the days of solid Gamecock defense.
I'd chalk some of it to playing on turf....maybe a good bit. Thirty-six games and I think 4 have been on turf and it appears our error rate is higher on turf. This was my takeaway as well. Couldn't watch today.Alright, think I've seen enough from Lecroy now.
Exactly, half way through the conference and I still think we’re growing and figuring some things out and I have faith we will this year! Tough road though, with top 10 type schedule left! This was my takeaway as well. We played terribly and still had the game in arm's length. Clean things up and we win the series. With Mcgillis coming back you could take a look at Braswell at 3rd.Couldn't watch today.
Said the same yesterday, but throwing errors were the problem not the turf. Until this series he's been solid. Let's see if turf was the issue this weekend.
If errors continue, we could move LeCroy to DH, Hornung to RF and Petry to 3B.

And we did it without McGillis. Getting him back will be huge if is his old self and not rusty.
Was just typing the same thing. But where do you put LeCroy's bat? If you move him to DH where does Hornung's bat go?With Mcgillis coming back you could take a look at Braswell at 3rd.
With a man on third, the third baseman needs to play even with the bag, or thereaboutsI wasn't watching but you play normal depth or even deep with two outs unless you think a bunt may be coming. Very doubtful they are bunting in that situation but who knows.
Wins and losses is the bottom line, but 44-32 run differential says a lot in those two series!Well, so far we’re 2-3 in the brutal stretch. Wish we had that 3rd LSU game.
With the number of hits Wimmer had today, I suspect his days in the one spot are over. LolCoaches must have read yesterday's game thread. lol
I see the move of Brewer to the lead off spot was a good one for Wimmer.
Less than two, yes. 2 outs and the bases loaded, he can play a bit deeper. With a man on third, the third baseman needs to play even with the bag, or thereabouts
Just watched the replay. That was a very costly error in a very close game.Less than two, yes. 2 outs and the bases loaded, he can play a bit deeper.
