Just watched the replay. That was a very costly error in a very close game.
He got caught on the in between hop which could have been avoided by playing back a few steps or charging the ball for the big hop. McCrory is listed as a catcher, so I'm not sure of his 3B experience.
Yes he was recruited as a catcher, so I assume with his bat the staff thought he was the best option at 3rd, I mean you don’t just throw anybody out there, he’s done a decent job out there up until now, so lets give him some slack!

Not getting swept at Vandy is an accomplishment as road series wins in the SEC are tough.
However, losing two after winning the opener is a major disappointment!
Hope we learn from it.
Liked moving Brewer to the lead off spot - Wimmer hits much better at #2.

Kinda feel like the Brewer move forces the pitcher to be accurate right out the gate or he will get on. Also beyond leading off to start the game, it ties him back in with the bottom of the lineup where he did quite well. I think we may have finally found our leadoff guy. I cant imagine anyone else there at this point.

Wasnt happy with the way we closed out game 3. I hope we learned something there and are working on correcting some of that. I dont usually like to point to certain guys but in that final inning with Stone leading off, he should not have been swinging out of his shoes with two strikes on him as behind as we were. Not helpful at all. And if it were me, I'd be giving Casas an earful after he hit it to the second baseman in his last at bat (who was playing super deep near the right fielder) but decided to jog to first anyway. I know he's probably not all that fast, but I still believe it would have been a pretty close play had he put a little effort in getting there.

Need to take 2 out of 3 from UF in Columbia to get out of this stretch .500. I would be happy with that.
Would like a sweep as well this weekend but coming away 4-4 against the 1, 2, and 4 teams in the country is an accomplishment in itself. We also had the midweek game vs a top 15 unc team so that helps. And what the hell is Coastal doing? Baseball America has them at #8 this week. Anyone know if they are for real?

Must have been some mighty big wins, considering the number of losses they have, to have that ranking.
They have an RPI of 10 and SOS of 11, but looking at the teams they've played I don't see it.

Interesting week for CCU. They have CofC tomorrow night. CofC has already beat them once.

Evidently they have gotten a lot of respect for beating UNC recently in a mid-week game. And they did beat WF earlier in the year. Other than that... meh. I think the polls are giving too much credit to mid-week games.
