I can't imagine that after a 6 week layoff it'd be worth it to burn a true freshman's first year of eligibility on the offensive line. The guy's gotta be crushed but I hope we redshirt him now.

but Im not sure we can afford to. He was providing a lot of depth at guard with Carpenter gone.

4-6 weeks means he shouldn't miss more than 2-3 games. If that's all he is out, then I say play him. Playing 9-10 more games is plenty worth it to burn a redshirt, especially with our lack of OL depth.

that he is going to lose valuable practice time. I know he is a back-up, but still...

are you implying that there is a position where we have depth?

</p> I think we have depth in the secondary, at LB, QB, and TB...and it doesnt really matter who plays WR

and how we are lucky to have him on the squad. How is some of our other offensive linemen doing so far.... like Templeton Hardy? He was rated a 4 star and I don't think Tobias Smith was a 2 or 3 star.

But the truth is, we're really not even sure we're 1-deep at QB right now. We pretty well know Relf isn't ready. Carroll looked fairly good for a true freshman last year, but he was one of the lowest rated passers in the SEC. He'll have to improve and we think he probably will (unless the lack of coaching hurts him), but we just don't know yet. And we think Lee has the tools to be a decent QB, but he's never taken a snap in the SEC. And his size isn't exactly a positive.

As for WR, I think Co-Eric (if he takes his head out of his *** where it stayed for all of last season) and Jamayel have a chance to not be terrible, but after them we've got nothing unless some of the freshmen can contribute.

I thought out of everyone outside of Burks he was the most reliable. He didn't put up all that great of numbers but then again none of our WR did.
