i'd just like to hear his ideas, plans, etc and just measure his overall enthusiasm about getting into the college game. for me, he's down on my list because of the unknowns and his age. though i put him below raffo at this point because of that, he has the most potential of anyone to jump up on my list. there's nothing raffo can do or say to make him move up.

....he has interest in the job. You could also make the argument that he has probably been contacted.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that if anybody is hired in the next two weeks, it will be Buck Showalter.

but you're right that Byrne needs to (and will) pin him down on those issues. Because if he's not really serious about it, he doesn't need to be our next coach. We don't need to hire him and then have to start this process all over in a year or two because he decided to go back to pro ball.
