It’s near kickoff for last year's home game against Ohio State and my friend makes his way to his seat right on the 50 yard line. He sits down, noticing that the seat next to him is empty. He leans over and asks his neighbor if someone will be sitting there.
"No", says the neighbor. "The seat is empty."
"This is incredible", said my friend. "Who in their right mind would have a great seat for this game and not use it?"
The neighbor says, "Well actually the seat belongs to me. I was supposed to come with my wife, but she passed away. This is the first Penn State home game we haven’t been to together since we got married."
"Oh, I’m so sorry to hear that. That’s terrible.... But couldn’t you find someone else, a friend, relative or even a neighbor to take her seat?"
The man shakes his head. "No", he says. "They’re all at the funeral."

Hope all is well with the Gambits and that
your bucket list keeps shrinking!
Thanks rudedude.
All is well with us, and we are making progress, but it seems that for every item we check off our list, we add two more, and that's a bit frustrating. Still, there is joy and satisfaction in the journey and we are making it together which is all that really matters. All the best.

Quite well, thanks. I'll never be Eric Clapton, but I continue to improve. Its been over 4 years since my wife and I took up the guitar together and we both love playing. We take weekly lessons, and I have not missed a day of practice since we started. She's missed a few but she's better and needs the practice less.

That was very, very funny! You had me going until the end.

There is an element of truth to your story. During college football season I go into shutdown mode on Saturdays.

So nice to know that at least some people have priorities.
