Haven’t seen this discussed and did listen to the postgame….what was the controversy on the Warren pooch punt? Was that supposed to be a timeout? Or was that an act. Strange series of events there.

Allar was still the one calling the snap. The center couldn't hear him because he shifted out towards the side. Allar also said postgame that Minn was trying to mimic our cadence. He started getting animated because the ball wasn't being snapped and the play clock was running out, so he started to emphatically try to call a TO which wasn't granted, probably because it looked an awful lot like him clapping to try to get the center to snap the ball. Warren doing a pooch punt was the play call all along so in the end the correct play did run, but obviously the punt didn't go too well. Franklin said part of the conversation with the team after was to not panic in that situation and try to call the TO because a delay of game there had little meaning.

One thing Warren can’t do😀

No matter how poor of a punt, add punter to the list of positions he’s played including QB, RB, TE, WR, and don’t forget center. Are there any other comparisons to players who have executed so many different roles? Maybe those players who have also played defense?

Saw a video in the week of someone criticizing PSU for being too reliant on Warren, and claiming that they appear to be leaning into it more and more even as people point out that they depend on him to do too much.

I didn't particularly care for that take given that I agree with Kevin Horne's perspective that Warren is the only weapon on the offensive side of the ball, and the team would be 7-5 without him...

...but...

Saturday's pooch punt lends credence to the idea that they are relying on him too much, almost to the extent that PSU has an entirely gimmicked offense, and the gimmick is to have this one guy do everything, because it's funny (or something).

I mean... did we need to have our TE punt the ball? What was the point of this other than the coaches trying to make this a running gag to have this one player doing different things? "They called him 'a Swiss Army knife!' Let's have him do the kick off!"

Maybe they're trying to increase his draft stock? Not really a priority when you're struggling to win a game.

Bert Campaneris played all 9 baseball positions in a single game. 😁

We've missed an opportunity to see Warren on defense in Hail Mary situations.
