Was that not the dumbest play call ever?

Think they just rolled the dice on Milroe’s legs and UM diagnosed it perfectly. Looked ugly though.

It was a pick play situation if there ever was one. Three yards to gain rushing against a stacked defense of that caliber is not percentage football.

Outsmarted themselves. Must have thought Michigan was thinking the obvious, run - pass option, and did the unthinkable run up the middle.

Tough loss Gamecocks. Bama let you down again. Just pull for Texas now. Pretend they are in the SEC already. Stupid Fans!

Not terribly upset to see Alabama sent packing. Tired of the same ol' same ol',, honestly if I had my choice of the 4, wouldn't mind seeing Washington win it all.

Consider this: from where Milroe received the snap, he had to go almost nine yards up the middle to score. Now in that circumstance, how freaking stupid is that?

Lots of dumb things in that game. For starters, it’s dumb that Milroe is the best QB Alabama has on that roster. That’s incredible. I think we had 2 QBs on our roster that are more capable than Milroe. Rattler, no doubt. And I believe Sellers as well, though I acknowledge that is completely unproven.

This was the first season in I can't tell you when that I had no idea who Alabama's qb was

Looking at the play again, it was a QB power RPO. The RB was in the flat wide open. Milroe should have read the line and swung it out. Maybe the low snap messed up his timing? But the play was there and the WRs had it blocked on the edge.

Listened to Saban's explanation. They treated it like a 2 point conversion. It was a straight run by Milroe the whole way. Said they knew Michigan would pressure but they thought they could block it. Snap was a bit low which threw off Milroe's first step and then they didn't block like they needed to. Happens I guess.

I said to my son right after the play…hmm, I guess Carolina isn’t the only team that does dumb stuff.

Yeah, saw that. Well, it certainly looked like it. I don't know why they would think they could block it. Mich DL was eating all game long.

Yeah, tough call. It was just a chess match there at the end with the timeouts and each side trying to figure what the other was going to do. Milroe had been pretty effective running the ball. Just wasn't executed. Snap was low. Wasn't blocked well. Not sure running right up the gut was the best move, but don't have a problem with it being a run for Milroe.

Yeah. They actually had the OL #77 running free into the 2nd level over the left side. If Milroe sees that and follows him they go into 2OT.

I do enjoy watching Saban coach football. His reactions, or lack thereof, are fun to watch. He's just been around seen it and done it all. When the last play was stuffed, there was no apparent heartbreak, anger, frustration, surprise or shock. Just a "well, that's that" expression, took off the headset and walked off.

Healthy reaction regardless of the outcome - been there and done that before.
