I love the movie. One of my favorites honestly. Inventing rock and roll. The subtlety of "Twin Pines Mall" being "Lone Pine Mall" after he goes back in time and runs over the pine tree with the DeLorean. I just think it's a well done picture.

But... there is one major technical flaw.

No, it's not that he says Johnny B Goode is in B... every musician knows it is in B flat.

No, it is the fact that there is no way they could have predicted the EXACT moment of the lightning strike. It was not a digital clock. The lightning could have hit the clock at any point from 10:04:00 to 10:04:59.

C;mon Doc Brown. I expect more from you.

It is definitely a classic. I never picked up on the mall name bit, thanks for pointing that out!

I had also thought about the clock thing. And then I thought, well I’ve suspended disbelief this far for this movie… I guess I can let it slide without over analyzing that point.

BUT, since you have brought it up, I pondered it further just now. Presumably, over the course of the minute that began at 10:04:00 (or of ANY minute), the internal gears and counterweights and whatnot of the clock wouldn’t have just stayed static… they would have been doing their ongoing notch-by-notch advancement toward eventually moving the minute hand on to 10:05. SO, I suppose Doc could have taken a peek at the clock’s internals, analyzed the interim point at which everything had come to a halt, and thereby determined the actual second at which the lightning had struck.

Does that help at all? :)

Crap, they’d need to go forward in time to see where it froze though. Never mind, lol.

How did George and Lorraine never pick up on their son looking exactly like the guy who got them together?
I've thought about that one too, but i think theres at least a semi plausible explanation there.

They would have seen Marty for a week in 1955. Lets say Marty started to resemble that version of himself in 1980.

Would you remember the face of someone you had known for a week 25 years later?

What was strange to me was part one and part 2, 2 different Jennifer’s. Was the original Jennifer not good enough for part 2? Did they upgrade. Did she think she was all that? Did she quit acting? So many questions. 🤣

If that person was directly responsible for my getting laid for the first time, yes.

Who was playing Marty, Michael J. Fox or Eric Stoltz?

(Sorry, I saw "The Flash" today.)

Family reasons--her mom had cancer.
