There's no dirt. Outfield, infield, warning track, everything is artificial turf. Just a bit weird for an old Boomer like me

Vanderbilt and many other schools have been that way for years. I don't like it either, but that's the way it is now.

Basically all youth fields are turf nowadays. Got to have that tournament to make money even if it's raining. That's the main reason (besides money) that they've moved to spring and fall baseball now - too dang hot to play on the turf during the summer.

My son works for the Tech athletic department and is probably working the game today. It's amazing how different an experience it is compared to DN.
