Last night my flight to FL on Allegiant gets delayed 3 times (eventually cancelled). After 3rd delay, I call my rental car company (Budget) and ask what time they close. Answer: midnight. I tell the rep that I am still in Harrisburg at 10:30 pm and will not be in Sanford until 1:30 am. Response: We will be closed. Go down to Allegiant gate and they rebook me for this morning (on a cheaper flight!) at no cost. The Allegiant gate rep says an airport rental car company is required to be open until last flight arrives. Believable? Any experience with delayed flights arriving in the middle of the night and rental counter still open? TIA.
