Way OT question for Yinz Yinzers about Music Fest at Hartwood Acres

I've never seen a show at this venue. I thought it would be like Star Lake for a Buffet show - a big tailgating fest. But, to my shock and horror, the website says no coolers. Does anybody know if that means no coolers on the grounds - in my car - or maybe just no coolers inside the venues? We have parking passes for inside the park.

Thanks, YinzAll...

Don't ask me, I only go to the free concerts on Sunday nights. I'm not even sure how they fence this off for this event, normally it's just all open area from the stage back to middle road. Parking is closer to Middle road (Just FYI, you have to enter the concert from Middle Road, you can't come over the hill from Saxonburg Blvd, that's usually closed off. Ehen they have the free concerts, everyone just brings a cooler and chairs and sits on the hill. There's "no alcohol" but it's not really enforced unless you're carrying around an obvious beverage, be discrete and drink from a red solo cup like everyone else and you're fine.... But, that's for the free ones...I've never ventured to a pay one. I live off Middle Rd, just a few miles north of the concert area.

the rules on their web site, for the Music Fest, make it pretty clear that food and drinks are not allowed to be brought into the event. The prohibited items are in the FAQ section of their web site, at:

I'm not going to copy all of them, but they include:

  • NO coolers
  • NO outside food or beverage items
  • NO outside alcohol or flasks
  • NO ice or ice packs
  • NO glass containers
  • NO outside cans or cups
It appears that @ElwoodBlues is out of luck, though perhaps the aforementioned are allowed in his car -- just not with him. In the aforementioned FAQ, it does specific that weapons, munitions and ammunition are not permitted on the festival grounds. That's the only items that are restricted where "on the festival grounds" is included. However, I think that's pushing things, as later in the FAQ is states:

MAY I BRING A PICNIC BASKET?

The culinary experience is part of the event. No outside food or drink allowed.
