It's just more incompetence on the part of the University, that's all.If they are parked illegally, why shouldn't they get a ticket? I could see an argument that the athletic department should have made some sort of accommodations for parking, but I don't see how you can blame the police for ticketing cars that are illegally parked.
It's summer session FFS. There's hardly anyone on campus. Surprised they didn't have Walks tow them all so the could get the kickbacks. If they are parked illegally, why shouldn't they get a ticket? Yep. Athletics knows the parking rules but likely told these folks to park wherever rather than making proper arrangements. I know this because I have had friends attend athletics non- games events and they weee told they could park anywhere, which was not the case. And they got tickets. If they are parked illegally, why shouldn't they get a ticket? Fixed it for you. It's just more incompetence on the part of Athletics, Sandy’s legacy lives on, that's all.
It will be a great day here when the PSU and SCPD parking junta/cabal is brought down.
Just like almost everything on social media, I’m sure the Twitter pic and commentary doesn’t tell the whole story.Yep. Those tickets aren't worth a ****Yep. Athletics knows the parking rules but likely told these folks to park wherever rather than making proper arrangements. Doesn’t Franklin have something in his binder for this?
This is how BAMA would run things, right?
Not necessarily.Tickets could be turned over to a debt collector. Not fun if it happens. Those tickets aren't worth a ****and can't be enforced unless they're enrolled at PSU so all these folks need to throw them in the garbage. Still not a good look though for recruits and parents. Hey @PSUFTG get on this.
Almost every college campus in the country plays the parking ticket game. Issuing parking tickets is so engrained that they can't help themselves. I'd understand if it was mid-semester and people were parking all over center campus without any permit. You're 100% correct. It's summer session and it looks like those vehicles are parked way the hell out by the IM fields. In the background is the observation tower at the Blue Band facility. It's summer session FFS. There's hardly anyone on campus. Surprised they didn't have Walks tow them all so the could get the kickbacks.
It’s not State College PD, that’s PSU Parking Enforcement. The State College PD will never change. Same as they’ve always been![]()

Ahhhh yes…… Blame Penn State Parking when Penn State Athletics could have, and should have provided parking or clear instructions from the start.
Anyone know how this turned out?
I never thought Sandy was the problem, only a symptom. Look higher.Fixed it for you.
I found the answer when trying to find the article for you. I'm not a big fan of Josh, but at least someone took on the Centre County parking mafia. Can't say he won though.PAYWALL.![]()

Does the physical plant own tow trucks or do they use private contractors?Don’t think any of them do business on campus.
If they do, it would be for University-owned vehicles. Doubt that they have an impound lot. Maybe Sara Thorndike should look into it as a means of shrinking the budget gap.Does the physical plant own tow trucks or do they use private contractors?
I blame Jay.
