Another 4-Star recruit. We beat out Florida State among others. Of course, the pitters gave him an offer. Do they give an offer to every breathing male in the country? It seems every recruit I've seen go to a big league program has an offer from the pitters. They never get any quality players but they sure give out plenty of offers. I wonder if each gets a keychain.

Pulling kids from Texas. I like it. I think we surprised people with Parker Washington. I guess Franklin isn’t done there.

Baker's stock is only rising! He's a top ten RB prospect and in the next two prep seasons I only expect his ranking to rise!!

He is from Arkansas, but transferred to a Texas school in January. Kind of like an IMG kid. Do you call them a Florida kid or their home state?
There is a private school in The Woodlands, but I believe he's enrolled in the public HS. He'll have played two seasons there.

You spend more time talking about Pitt than Pitt.

He accepted day after first setting foot on campus... 10% chance this sticks
That's about 9% higher than I was going. But if you throw a bunch of NIL money at him and have Singleton and Allen running all over people for the next two years, maybe he has a harder decision to make when the time comes. Would seem like you made the move to a Texas HS in order to get UT and A&M's attention, not PSU's, but what do I know.

He already has A&Ms attention as they have offered. There is an article from January where he mentions Saquon without being prompted and it's not by our writers. I think he's a fan and our coaches parlayed that. Singleton and Allen being on the roster and possibly being NFL bound by the time he enrolls could be enticing.

However, I see the points of believing this kid sticking is low.

I hope some are more positive for things in their life than they are here.
The young man had no pressure to commit this far out. He wanted too maybe he knows what he wants. Could it change, yes coaches could move on, family needs might change. That’s life but to poop on it now is sorta sad.

Agree, most posters on these sites follow recruiting pretty close and know things can change, but kudos to those thinking they discovered fire with those hot takes.

Fair point and what is inarguable....it's better to get a verbal commitment from players of this caliber than the alternative, no? If nothing else, some others in the class might consider penn state knowing this top 100 player is, at least for now, verballed to Penn State. Surly the coaches will promote the Hell out of the class and having blue chip players verbally committed is helpful to that end.

Generally agree. Downside is if PSU intends to take only a limited number at the position, it causes an adjustment in recruiting approach which could mean losing out on another high caliber prospect.. That's largely a function of time to LOI Day.
