Who do we credit for the Alabama pipeline?

Arricle said Poindexter was the lead; but also, top safety in Bama doesn’t have Bama offer (still had a lot of great offers - Auburn, Michigan, Tennessee, Clemson - none from Georgia though).

It feels like the staff is targeting (and landing) some bigger DBs. Nelson very well could grow into a linebacker - but a lot of these prospects are 6’+ with great length. Might be looking to find length and physicality to match up with those WRs OSU is recruiting.

Franklin has long been obsessed with LONG CB's and Safety's. Whether or not he should be is another matter, but this guy certainly fits the mold.

I think that this obsession would be universal among present-day CFB coaches. Today’s game is pass-crazy.

See the Freak Play discussion to see what happened in '99 when dwarfs (dwarves?) were put at DB

Yeah, I dont know. I see the benefit of tall CB's against tall recievers and jump balls. Weirdly it seems like recievers are getting shorter and faster to me, less big possession type WRs.

Did the board nanny give you the OK to talk about the size of a recruit that commits to PSU?

Good get for you all.

Somebody else noted there's a trend to go with smaller WRs. Our '23 WR commits go 6'2, 6'2, 6'0, and 6'0. Last year, our 4 WR commits were 5'10 to 6'0. For '24, we lead for Jeremiah Smith who will probably hit 6'4, but otherwise more of the same. I'm honestly not sure how that compares to a typical roster -- taller than usual?

PSU's DBs have played us fairly well over the years (our biggest plays were runs after the catch and a lot of missed tackles on your part), so whatever Franklin prioritizes in that department seems to be effective.
