The following comments are not pointed to this kid specifically, but more of a general view. As a fan, I have zero interest in recruiting and "commitments" based upon today's world of NIL, portals, transfers, and this generation's understanding of the definition of the word "commitment". So, I don't get too excited when kids " commit" to PSU nor do I get discouraged when the inevitable "respect my decision" tweet is sent out weeks or months later. What’s the thumbs down thing?
He’s down with his decision?
My thoughts exactly! The following comments are not pointed to this kid specifically, but more of a general view. Now, I will still watch and cheer for whichever 22 players trot out on the field each Saturday. However, I don't live or die with the world of recruiting.
OTOH, I can't imagine being a coach in today's world and spending so much time, energy, and effort recruiting these kids knowing exactly what I outlined above regarding NIL, portal, and "I'm 107% committed"...until they're not!
Yes, they get paid very, very, well, but that's got to really wear on them(the coaches) mentally and emotionally over time.
Not only have I lost interest in recruiting because of this lack of true commitment, I find my interest in college football waning overall. The following comments are not pointed to this kid specifically, but more of a general view. I could not agree more. Over about the last five years I have gone from cannot wait to watch to if there is nothing better to do, I'll watch. I did not even watch all the PSU games last year which is probably the first time in 30/35 years I missed any. The portal, the not playing in bowl games and now the NIL has really caused me to lose interest. They should just create some kind of minor league system and get these kids out of the college game. Most of them are not there for the education anyway. Not only have I lost interest in recruiting because of this lack of true commitment, I find my interest in college football waning overall.

I thought names of the player's affiliated sponsors are labeled on their jersey's.Does he know we don’t have the names on the back? Egad.
in Ancient Rome....What’s the thumbs down thing?

Yep and a soda bottle sitting on the table with the Pepsi logo pointed at the cameraNext, we’ll see college football players put on a sponsor cap for interviews like NASCAR drivers.
The important thing in all of this, is letting God weigh in before making such earth shaking decisions. The following comments are not pointed to this kid specifically, but more of a general view.
