We've now won 6 of the last 8 against the Dores. Feels like the historical record is starting to even out although there's still a long way to go.
Vandy has been pretty awful the last few years. Jerry Stackhouse was a bit of a disaster.
I'm still taking the "If you keep your expectations low, we might not let you down" perspective on things. The life-long Mississippi State fan inside of me says we are peaking to early.
bad time for a pissed off Kentucky team to be coming in.
It would make a win even more fun, however.
Our guys are too short, not aggressive and slow to even compete against KY. They can't rebound or shoot threes. Don't even let me start about our crappie defense.
I recorded the game and just finished watching. I was a bit concerned that we were going to blow the game with a 22 point lead starting around the 12 minute point. They did lose a lot of the big lead and finally wound up winning by 12 but it get a little too close for comfort. Really good game.
I had some flashbacks of the Stansbury Stall
I didn't like it while the game was going on, but looking back - all the shiit that was against us (road game, Hub ice cold, Kugel out of the game, refs working overtime to let Vandy back in it, plus that goofball with the hair throwing up circus shots that kept falling) - them making it closer and us still pulling it out on the road might end up being really really good for us later.
Last night, Auburn got up 21 at Texas and Texas cut it to 3 with about 2 minutes remaining. It happens. Vandy is a good team and we essentially dominated them without Hubbard and Kugel really providing a lot of offensively.
Haven’t made the tourney since 2017. They went downhill once Kevin Stallings left. I do think Byington is a step in the right direction though. They didn’t seem all that talented but were clearly well coached last night.

Exactly! We refuse to pass the ball around the perimeter. Except when we do, we refuse to take the open the shots.
I can’t tell what’s sarcasm in this thread and what’s not. Just reading the descriptions of play, I would be led to believe we’re talking about a 1-14 team.
Don't forget the lackadaisical attitude of the coaches... It's like they don't even care if we win.
Losing a huge lead seems to happen more often than not. I pretty much expected Tennessee to come roaring back in the 2nd half last night but they were lousy the entire game.
Maybe so, but he'd win the best-dressed every game.
More important than winning the game last night, let us please focus our attention on how we almost blew a lead (but didn’t) in a road game in the SEC against a good team (although we didn’t lose)*************
